PROJECT MANAGER

  • Data Center Construction (Commissioning Lead / Power Systems Trade)

Join our team of leaders in electrical power system maintenance, repair, testing, engineering, & commissioning. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager with field experience and strong knowledge of electric power systems to work out of our Kansas City office. Shermco Industries is accredited by NETA and is the largest independent electrical testing company in North America.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work safely by following documented company and client safe work practices.

  • Manage electrical testing and commissioning projects from start to finish.

  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget (project tracking for milestone completion).

  • Coordinate resources and acceptance testing activities with clients, contractors, local Shermco office, and other stakeholders.

  • Oversee and Perform NETA Acceptance Testing and electrical commissioning per project specifications.

  • Provide leadership and training to project team members.

  • Ensure project documentation is complete, accurate, and distributed to project stakeholders.

  • Identify and mitigate project risks.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations.

Minimum Qualifications: to qualify for consideration, you must meet each of the following minimum qualifications and requirements (or have similar trade experience)

  • Prefer an associate degree from an accredited 2-year technical college in Electrical Power & Controls (EPC), or a EE Degree from an ABET accredited college, similar experience and training from the military (Army Prime Power, Air Force Electrical Power Production, or NAVY Seabee)

  • NETA III, or NICET Certification or Electrician license preferred, but not required.

  • Prefer at least 5 or more years of relevant experience performing electrical testing & troubleshooting.

  • Must have computer skills including email, data entry, and Microsoft Excel; experience with PowerDB a plus.

  • Must be able to work safely and adhere to all electrical safety procedures.

  • Prefer OSHA 10/30 hour, MSHA, NFPA 70 E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED training; training on each can be provided by Shermco.

  • Must be able to drive daily locally/regionally and be available for periodic overnight travel.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and periodic, unannounced random drug tests.

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check.

  • All offers are conditioned on acceptable results from a background check and drug and alcohol screening.

  • Must be able to crawl, climb, stand and lift up to 100 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodations.

  • Must be able to pass a fit for duty physical exam.

  • Must have a valid driver's license, and currently have and be able to maintain a clean driving record.

  • Must be willing to work flexible hours and overtime, and occasional weekends, holidays, and nights.

  • If applying for position, must be eligible to work in the U.S. without need for employer sponsored visa (work permit).

  • Must be willing to travel; minimum 25%.

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
