Weeks Grp, LLC is looking for a Construction Project Manager for a large data center project in Reno, NV. This roles requires in depth knowledge of data center construction and prior experience with data center builds.
DATA CENTER CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED. Successful applicants will need to coordinate with multiple parties including; general contractors, architects, engineers, commissioning agents, and other third-party vendors. Be responsible for various aspects of the construction project, such as; planning, directing, coordinating workers, choosing contractors, and monitoring performance.
Other duties include recruiting and training contractors and trade partners, negotiating contracts and ordering materials and supplies. Successful applicants should demonstrate leadership, construction expertise, attention to details, computer competencies, strong communication and negotiation skills and problem-solving orientation. Other Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for overall field operations of a project from the standpoint of safety, quality control, scheduling, contracts, conformance to drawings, specifications, and customer relations. Develop detailed work plans, financial estimates, schedules, timelines, size-ups and status reports. Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards and making sure they are implemented in the field.
Responsible for enforcing safety protocols by the project staff. Manage budget and financial reporting, interpret and analyze reports to ensure adherence to project budget. Lead in the development of high-performance teams through supervision, training, coaching and mentoring.
Providing leadership to positively influence change. Manage vendor integration within project scope. Utilize expertise to ensure contractor work meets the design intent.
Keep management informed on progress for project and budget through regularly scheduled operations review meetings. Provide proper correspondence with clients such that all project issues are handled in a clear, concise and friendly manner. Maintain strong business relations with the clients.
Ensure solutions to technical problems through discussions with technical teams to resolve problems. Partner with the development team to understand opportunities and limitations of solutions being implemented. Develop recommendations and implement solutions.
Interface with A/E and owners regularly. Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Necessary to Perform Essential Job Functions: Bachelor’s Degree and/or 7-10 year of experience as a Construction Manager, Owner’s Representative or equivalent combination of education, training and work experience on data center projects of $100,000,000 and larger.
Prior experience leading data center projects (4-6 years minimum) Significant experience with commercial building- general contractor preferred, construction experience mandatory. Extensive experience managing the build process for large, fast paced data center projects. Thorough knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing and engineering principals and techniques.
Must be experienced with the design process of building systems for data center and mission critical projects. Must be able to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule. Proficient with MS Office Suite and software.
Proficient with MS Project and P6 Experience with Procore- a plus. Ability to work independently without direct supervision. Ability to lead and deliver complex projects.
Strong organizational and communication skills. Team player attitude. Proven record that demonstrates leadership of all first and second tier sub-contractors.
