Alexa is Amazon's groundbreaking voice service designed for voice interactions. We believe voice is the most natural interface for interacting with technology across many domains. We are looking for a Data Associate specializing in the English language to join the Alexa Shopping team.

As a Data Associate, you will learn and master workflow guidelines to hit deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

This role focuses on English language data, primarily in the areas of writing and general data analysis. The Data Associate must be capable of:

  • Understanding how people use language to convey meaning

  • Delivering high quality work under aggressive deadlines

  • Using established guidelines in daily work practices

The ideal Data Associate:

Job Description: Full-time, nine-month, one-year, non tenure-track position in English and Cultural Studies to start September 1, 2019. The successful applicant will be eligible to apply for a tenure-track position if funding is approved for 2020-21. Requirements: The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Literature and/or Cultural Studies, experience with diverse populations, and a passion for social justice grounded in Christian faith. Courses will include a possible combination of US Multi-Ethnic Literature; African American Literature; Latinx Literature; Toni Morrison; African Literature; and writing courses related to Cultural Studies or US Multi-Ethnic Literature. Many of these courses count towards both the Social Justice and Cultural Studies major and the English major, which includes a required Cultural Studies component.
