Your Role:

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Enterprise Architecture, the Data Architect is responsible for being a thought leader and strategic planner for all of Tenable's data sources and repositories to assist in standardizing and driving scale for business stakeholders and technical teams alike. The data architect will be responsible for technical best practices as it relates to a variety of data sources, and will be responsible for identifying, classifying, and standardizing the variety of sources across Salesforce, Netsuite, Workday, and many other business applications. This role will also be accountable for maintaining architectural documentation around these data repositories and ensuring that the documentation is consumable to the variety of Tenable teams that build and maintain reports and dashboards. Some of the teams this role will interact with on a regular basis are the Sales and Billings Analytics teams, the BI Warehouse team, Data Science team, and a variety of business leaders as it pertains to their data reporting and analytics needs.

Your Opportunity:

  • Responsible for end-to-end data architecture across a variety of enterprise applications to transform information into valuable insights for leadership

  • Manage data governance processes and ensure data quality and security

  • Act as SME on Architecture Review Board (ARB) as it pertains to data architecture and be accountable for decisions made for the enterprise

  • Work closely with domain solutions architects and enterprise architects on strategic initiatives to ensure data solutions meet best practices

  • Assist the enterprise architecture team with maintaining documentation, KPIs and dashboards as they relate to the TOGAF framework

  • Remain up-to-date on latest trends in the industry and present potential opportunities and risks to various leaders and stakeholders

  • Apply design thinking skills to develop innovative solutions to current and future business challenges

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree required in Information Technology, Computer Science, or business-related discipline

  • Track record of implementing and maintaining master-data management (MDM) for medium to large enterprises

  • Understanding of data technologies and analytical practices such as data lakes, ETL, BI reporting, unstructured data storage and dashboard development

  • Experienced thought leader who is capable of thinking outside-the-box to create scalable data solutions for growing enterprises

  • Understanding of TOGAF or other Enterprise Architecture models and how it relates to data design

  • Requires 10 or more years of experience working with data technologies, such as Azure Databricks, SQL Server, NoSQL stores, or other relevant technologies

  • Proficiency in Tableau and dashboard design

  • Able to work in a hybrid/on-site capacity at our headquarters in Columbia MD

Ideally:

  • Experience applying emerging technologies to data systems design, such as machine learning or AI

  • Has Azure Databricks certifications, as well as other applicable Azure services certifications

  • Core understanding of common source of truths, such as CRM, ERP, HCM and other common platforms found in enterprise companies

  • Some travel may be required

  • Strategic acumen and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn findings into viable solutions

  • Track record of identifying the need for and driving beneficial change; practices continuous improvement

  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and strong cross-functional relationships across an organization to achieve common goals

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to have critical conversations

  • Strong business acumen and demonstrated sound business judgment

  • Ability to effectively prioritize workload

The base salary range for this position is $112,000.00 - $140,000.00 Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, location and experience, and may fall outside of the range shown. Employees are also eligible for variable compensation in addition to base pay (commission for sales roles, bonus for non-sales roles), depending on company and individual performance.
