Data Architect

Security Benefit is searching for an experienced Data Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate may work remotely but will be required to travel to our home office in Topeka, Kansas or our New York office periodically. Security Benefit associates are working in a hybrid environment with both remote and on-site work.

What Does the Job Look Like?

Security Benefit is looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Data Architect to join the Data Office and support the Customer Centric Delivery Team and its instrumentation of associated Data Products. This role will be responsible for supporting data management engagements. This involves contributing to data, technical and system architecture aspects of the program, and supporting all data management activities as required.

As a Data Architect, you'll be responsible for:

• Designing, supporting, and creating architecture models.

• Supporting design and development activities of the overall architecture and all aspects of Data Platform components (Integration Services, Data Architecture).

• Designing all cross-framework services (security, business rules handling, etc.).

• Defining appropriate unit, system, performance and user acceptance test strategies and standards.

• Leading the effort to coordinate work with critical path project resources.

• Providing business and data analysis to support, compile and report key information for business and data objectives.

• Functioning as a liaison between business and technical teams in analyzing and assessing solutions to meet business and user needs.

• Conducting/participating in meetings with system owners to understand current data and business issues, resolving source data issues and refining transformation rules.

• Interfacing with Chief Data Officer resources to align data architecture and analysis strategies with the Data Foundation Platform.

• Understanding and complying with laws and regulations that are applicable to the job function.

• Understanding and complying with company policies and procedures that are applicable to the job function.

Who Are You?

• 10+ years' experience in deploying and managing enterprise information delivery initiatives within distributed environment(s).

• Bachelor's degree in computer background related degrees, Business, or related field.

• Proven experience with data architecture, analysis, and data modeling.

• Strong Database architectural and Data Mesh/Warehousing/Mart experience across multiple technologies, including SQL-Based databases (e.g., Snowflake, Microsoft, Oracle, RedShift).

• Experience with Snowflake and AWS, preferred.

• Experience with Data Integration technologies and methodologies, such as Matillion.

• Experience with Cloud-based technologies, preferably AWS.

• Expert level knowledge of data model design, development, maintenance, and support.

• Ability to work with end users, Data and Business Analysts and all levels of the organization including senior leadership.

• Ability to gather requirements, apply strong analysis and design skills to build system and data specifications.

• Experience gathering requirement and applying strong analysis and design skills to build system specifications.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written and verbal communication.

• Experience providing proper technical documentation to satisfy all corporate guidelines.

• Financial Services industry experience preferred.

• In depth knowledge of Security Benefit & Zinnia products and services preferred.
