Manage data as it moves through the enterprise, coordinating the efforts of the various teams including the infrastructure, BI, Data Science & operational teams. The position is charged with improving the consistency, timeliness, quality, security and delivery of data. This includes streamlining data flows and remove unnecessary costs from the complex, fragmented, heterogeneous data architecture and building out a holistic data architecture, integration and information strategy including Master Customer Data. This includes movement, enhancement, integration, quality and availability of data throughout the virtual enterprise landscape.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop a roadmap for evolution for today's needs, establish a scalable way of exploring the impact of business strategy changes on information management and enable to extraction of additional value from existing information assets.

  • Creating and maintaining a data map with current and future Data Sources and Data/ Information Landscape including where the data is stored, maintained, accessed and used.

  • Define current data landscape, entities and dependencies, create an information-centric view to quickly visualize what information matters most to the organization based on the defined business strategy.

  • Create and manage data models in all their forms, including conceptual models, relational database designs, data flows and others.

  • Defining data and information integration including documenting Interfaces and data movement that currently exists and leading data tracks in ongoing projects and initiatives.

  • Ensuring a focus on data quality and Master Data - Educate the business on its importance, and involve and facilitate the work of business constituents on improvement programs by leveraging the knowledge of data across the enterprise.

  • Provide guidance and support to big data ETL engineer on performance and facilitate ETL performance tuning

Job Requirements:

  • Data-modeling and information classification expertise at the enterprise level.

  • Experience in successfully rolling out MDM , BI, and data warehouse implementations.

  • Deep understanding of common information architecture frameworks and information and metadata models, taxonomies, and the challenges of applying structured techniques (data modeling) to less-structured sources.

  • Creating and maintaining a data map with current and future Data Sources and Data/ Information Landscape including where the data is stored, maintained, accessed and used.

  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Proven stakeholder management skills with strong communication and persuasion skills, including the ability to translate the information architecture contribution to business outcomes into simple briefings for Senior Management.

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline.

  • Proven understanding and hands on experience with SQL, noSQL, Hive, Pig, Matlab, SAS, Python, Java, Ruby, C++, Perl, Spark, Impala and other big data technologies.

  • Minimum 5-10 years of IT experience and proven track record in establishing information architecture and MDM practice, developing data strategy, roadmap and deliver on it.

  • System integration experience, including interface design, and familiarity with web-oriented architecture techniques.

  • Relevant and recent experience architecting and delivering projects from start to finish in:

  • Large scale data and analytics projects

  • Master Data Management program

  • Digital projects

  • Change management

  • Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts to business language

  • Sense of business urgency and sound judgement to close critical gaps and able to anticipate problems and issues, and effectively prevent/resolve.

  • Team player able to produce high quality work and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.

The Architecture developed by the Reporting & Analytics Architect is the "glue" that integrates the project and program strategies across multiple reporting programs and projects, and ensures alignment with business strategies and drivers, and management priorities. This "glue" is a series of explicit graphical models that, at a minimum, are "human consumable" and define and describe: * The Goals the Enterprise is trying to achieve * The Processes needed to be performed to meet these Goals * The Things (Technology, Data, and Data Structures) needed to perform these Processes The Reporting & Analytics Architect sets the direction and establishes the approach for integrating information applications and programs, providing what is required for business users to make informed decisions. This role will provide specialist architectural ownership, governance control and solution management across all reporting & analytics initiatives. Finally, the Reporting & Analytics Architect catalogs, develops, coordinates, communicates, maintains, and enforces the overall Reporting Data Structure and Architecture Models, Representations, Initiatives, Capabilities, and Standard Components used by the Enterprise. Main accountabilities The Reporting & Analytics Architect is responsible for the development or coordination of the following deliverables: * Developing the Reporting & Analytics Architecture across all applications in the Enterprise * Define and develop a data lake to cover structured and unstructured data * Assisting in aligning reporting initiatives with the Enterprise Architecture * Auditing compliance to the Reporting & Analytics architecture standards * Serving as advisor to senior business management on business and information integration strategies * Leading the team of developers / analysts / engineers in the development activities for new reporting projects Strategy Development Competencies * Design and develop architecture framework in line with Tate & Lyle ISIT operating principles of business led solutions, delivered with agility, and in an end-to-end delivery model * Translating or mapping business strategy into information strategy with a focus on Reporting & Analytics * Understanding technology product and vendor strategies, products, and customer preferences * Understanding, modelling, and representing the organizations informed decision making requirements in a human consumable manner, as it relates to IT strategy * Able to articulate a road map from current reporting & analytics footprint to a futuristic model with clear trigger points identified * Able to integrate security design and roadmap into the architecture design * A good understanding of legal, tax and regulatory rules Organizational Competencies * Communicating with business and technology leaders, both within and outside the organization * Understanding the business needs for solutions * Being viewed as the trusted advisor to the organization * Understanding developers / engineers needs in parallel with business needs * Lead product and technology validation process Modelling Competencies * Abilities to derive, define, and explicitly represent various artefacts within The Enterprise Framework * Understanding the meanings and relationships between various models * Developing and maintaining project level and Enterprise level model consistency and integration Technology Competencies * Understanding of appropriate technologies * Developing methods and techniques for modelling technologies * SAP BW, HANA, Business Objects Suite (AFO, Webi, Lumira), SAP Analytics Cloud, Tableau, MS-Power BI, Data Services, BPC, embedded analytics, etc. Performance measures * Successful delivery of assigned projects in reporting space.
