Essential Duties
1.Develops functional and/or service goals that ensure conformity and uniformity with University policies within their assigned area of responsibility. 2. Oversees new and existing systems and services development to include modification of existing systems. 3. Evaluates user needs and implement systems and solutions to best service the community. 4. Consults with users and IT functions to diagnose and resolve complex problems. 5. Serves as a liaison between area of responsibility and other areas to ensure conformity with department and University goals. 6. Develops troubleshooting and problem resolution programs to ensure a high level of service and efficiency. 7. Influences and collaborates with clients and ITS functions to maximize the delivery of services and solutions. 8. May perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field and four to nine years of related technical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Position Focus:

As the Data Architect Manager, you will be responsible for building the university's strategic analytics environment including management of the data technology stack and oversight of data models that bring together diverse families of structured and unstructured data. This position requires the integration of technical and subject matter expertise to deliver a meaningful and user-friendly analytics platform and data distribution platform.

Responsibilities include: Team building, setting guidelines, maturing the architecture, oversight of operations and continuous improvement. Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team to deliver the data platforms for analytics in accordance with established guidelines for architecture and governance that leverage best practices for data modeling, ETL and data quality.

Work collaboratively with multiple user groups to assess the analytical needs and identify dependencies across organization and tools to implement an enterprise wide data architecture to support cross domain data integration for reporting, and analytics. Plan for and drive the design, build and deployment of standardized and stratified metrics and related details for the user's sphere of influence. Provide oversight to the design of data movement (ETL) processes that deliver seamless connections between data for robust cross-functional views and timely delivery of accurate data.

Incorporate/embed a continuous improvement orientation to sustain value-added technical deliverables through focus on accuracy, training, and promotion of best practices. Build and maintain metadata repositories, data dictionaries, data lineage tracking and data quality score cards. Advance process automation and operational management through the use of metrics.

Support the data layers/objects of a Service Oriented Architecture. Contribute effectively as organization progresses from standard reporting to higher levels of consumption including data science with predictive analytics and deep learning methods. Act as a change agent to create appropriate teams and manage team performance to meet aggressive reporting requirement timelines.

Manage and develop staff; provide coaching and feedback to encourage and motivate individuals and groups. Working with a diverse set of clients, analyze customer requirements, create requests for proposal responses, project effort estimates and delivery. Set the learning agenda for developers to ensure their professional growth and development. May perform other duties as assigned.

The Senior Clinical Data Manager will be responsible for independently executing and overseeing data management processes of new clinical trials during start-up phase and managing the data during the study maintenance through close-out phase in line with Company SOPs and best practices, reporting and escalating to management staff as appropriate.</p><p>This role will be responsible for identifying and/or leading process improvement initiatives, such as new systems and services while thoroughly understanding internal processes and customer needs. The Senior Clinical Data Manager will also act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a specific area within the Data Management department and serve as a Data Management Team Lead with direct supervision of Data Management staff.</p> <p><strong>Essential Job Functions:</strong></p> <ul> <li> Provide oversight of data management activities for a portfolio of studies</li> <li>Oversee set-up of software, database and study specific data management processes for clinical trials<ul> <li>Thorough understanding and review of clinical trial protocols</li> <li>Set-up of data management tracking tools</li> <li>Manage custom software build and database set-up process</li> <li>Write and review supporting documentation for data management including Data Quality Monitoring Plans and Data Management Plans</li> <li>Review and understand sponsor custom file format specifications and liaise with programmers as needed to determine feasibility and timelines</li> <li>Thorough understanding of project scope of services related to data deliverables </li> </ul> </li> <li>Complete data management services of a portfolio of studies, executing against project plans and scope of services<ul> <li>Monitoring of study data in Cogstate’s data management system for quality (integrity and completion) and resolution of data discrepancies</li> <li>Managing quality control and delivery of data transfers to customers</li> <li>Liaise with Cogstate Scientific and Statistical Analysis team as needed to coordinate custom programming of data extracts and communication with sponsors regarding statistical analyses</li> <li>Regular review of study timelines and data deliverables</li> <li>Rigorously file all study documents and e-mail correspondence</li> <li>Support client information and data reporting needs: impeccable communication and regular external and internal reporting on project progress, address and resolve all issues, anticipate issues, work internally to develop resolutions that provide client satisfaction and meet Cogstate’s business interests</li> <li>Manage site communications relating to data monitoring and data-related support issues</li> <li>Manage external and internal communications about data management timelines</li> <li>Prepare for client audits: ensure all study data-related information and filing is up to date and review all key study information in preparation for interactions with auditors </li> <li>Regular reviews of study timelines, tracking of all internal work and re-work, and coordination with project managers to ensure all data management activities are adequately supported financially by study budgets</li> </ul> </li> <li>Identify and lead one or more of Cogstate’s continuous process improvement initiatives by seeking to understand client needs and engaging Cogstate staff across the company </li> <li>Train and mentor new members of staff, including planning and execution of full induction schedule, and delegation and supervision of tasks</li> <li>If acting as SME, serve as the main point of contact for issues related to the area of expertise including but not limited to managing all associated materials, training, and process improvements and liaising with other departments as necessary </li> <li>Acting as Team Lead; <ul> <li>Supervise and develop reporting Data Coordinators, Associate Data Managers and Data Managers.
