Our client is seeking a dynamic and highly experienced Data Architect with outstanding client-facing skills. As a senior data architect, you will be taking an active technical leadership role on projects to deliver solutions to our clients, and also be heavily involved in pre-sales efforts and in mentoring technical staff. Candidates will be evaluated on the basis of:
1. Hands on technical skills
2. Client-facing & sales skills
3. Breadth & length of experience
In this role you must be confident in engaging in a range of conversations with senior client management and staff, have the ability to lead discussions and workshops, have the technical ability to design and propose solutions to complex enterprise data problems and provide hands on assistance as required. These abilities will be utilised in all cycles of the delivery lifecycle from Proof of Concept development to troubleshooting large scale implementations.
The successful candidate will have strong skills in relational and no sql solutions as well as the technologies that fully realise their potential including a working understanding of ETL and Streaming technologies.
The company is a rapidly expanding, global, organisation and as such the candidate will be required to undertake travel to work close to client as well as to interact with our near shore delivery teams.
Proficient and competent skills with code/scripting.
Domain data analysis and modelling skills
Understanding of different architectural patterns (Micro-services, SOA, n-tier, etc) and how different data stacks can be used to best deliver them
Good working knowledge of software versioning tools including GIT, Subversion
Familiarity and appreciation of JIRA and Confluence and other productivity tools (e.g. Slack, Trello) or equivalent.
Multi Operating System knowledge: Windows, Linux OS services.
Understanding of how data stacks can be used in the context of continuous delivery
Mastery of one or more of Oracle / DB2 / Postgres, Etc
Experience of one or more of Hadoop, Hive, Pig, Cloudant, Mongo, Cassandra, DynamoDB, etc
