Job Description:At Regions, the Data and Analytics Analyst transforms data into a meaningful format for operational and/or decision-making purposes. Focusing on day-to-day deliverables, this role works with managers to gather and interpret data for leaders to make data-driven decisions.
Primary Responsibilities
Creates reports that are valuable, readable, and presentable to stakeholders
Prepares visual reports/presentations to present analysis to management
Interprets, analyzes, and provides insights to teams and managers to determine operational impact, trends, and opportunities
Performs data analysis to help achieve data automation
Creates and maintains databases to help classify & store information
Completes day-to-day deliverables and ad-hoc data reports to support business needs/projects and answer data related questions
Ensures compliance by performing quality data audits, mining, and management
Monitors data and analytics trends and seeks opportunities for continuous improvement
Offers guidance to junior analysts, ensuring proper training and tools are provided
Partners with the centralized Data Governance team to implement and support data governance and data quality requirements
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Requirements
Master's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Statistics, or related field and six (6) years of experience in a data analytics or related role
Or, a Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Statistics, or related field and eight (8) years of experience in a data analytics or related role
Two (2) years of proven experience utilizing analytical software such as Structured Query Language (SQL), Statistical Analysis System (SAS), SAS Enterprise Miner, and applicable Microsoft Office applications
Preferences
Working knowledge of business intelligence software (e.g. Tableau, Power BI)
Experience in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, or Artificial Intelligence
Programming experience in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, or Artificial Intelligence
Programming experience in Python, Ruby, R, MATLAB, Scala, or Java
Experience in Big Data Technology in Hadoop, Hive, Impala, SPark, or Kafka
Skills and Competencies
Demonstrated leadership capabilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
Strong verbal, written communication, and organizational skills
Strong work ethic and self-motivation
Leadership in Technology Data Stewardship people and process:
Leadership of Data Stewards in Technology as part of multi-year data governance project.
Acts as focal point of engagement with Data Advisors to streamline coordination for key meetings, deliverables and reporting, related to data management.
Engages teams across Technology to identify and catalog critical data assets and lift organizational maturity.
Drive Technology group efforts to maintain data quality, metadata, lineage and overall compliance with Policy and Standards.
Compile and report Data Issues into Enterprise Data Issues Log as needed.
Assist business groups with creation, submission, and prioritization of Enterprise Data group requests
Leadership on data and reporting related to IT Asset Lifecycle Management:
Support the data gathering and reporting process for End of Support / End of Life dates on bank assets.
Creation and maintenance of a Power BI dashboard
Support the continuous improvement and eventual automation of the reporting process
Support R2 System Lifecycle Workstream
Maintain the EOL/EOS Tracker dashboard for potential impacts to the R2 effort.
Lead and manage data exports, enhancements, and updates to the data and dashboard on a regular basis
Problem Administration Leadership
Directs work of Business Analyst tracking and reporting on technical problems and their resolution including capturing Root Cause and Lessons Learned
Directs the strategy to enhance the tracking and reporting process, including automated dashboards, root cause analysis entry, training of partner groups (MCMT, issue owners) and the use of our ITSM tool (ServiceNow).
