As the Data Analytics Solutions Architect, you will work on innovation related projects and initiatives specific to the area of Data Analytics. The ideal candidate will bring experience in data analytics tools, technologies, and methodologies as well as strong advanced analytics skills to enhance the team's capabilities. Location is open!

You will work in a growing innovation data analytics team focused in 3 primary areas:

  • Research and knowledge which includes activities such as: staying apprised of data analytics market trends, emerging technology reviews/analysis, and working with internal teams on their overall understanding of the topic of data analytics.

  • Data Analytics use case documentation: You will work with the internal and external business partners to evaluate business gaps or challenges related to data analytics and collaborate on developing technical designs or solutions to meet those challenges.

  • Subject matter expertise: Using your background and expertise in data analytics you will work performing smart experiments using a combination of data analytics methods, tools, and procedures in order to build proof of concepts within the area of data analytics.

Being part of this team you will have the opportunity to work directly with the other innovation teams in specialty areas such as automation and blockchain, and the Innovation Steering committee. You will be asked to participate and contribute on cross disciplinary teams and may be asked to lead small to medium size smart experiments and prototyping efforts. There will be a mix of deep technical work as well as business analyst responsibilities including requirements gathering and documentation, as well as project management responsibilities. Some of the technical skills that you will use on the job are data analysis, data modeling, dashboard or KPI design and development, and the latest data science tools/applications including Python, R, Alteryx, for exploratory data analysis and predictive modeling. Responsibilities

  • Problem Solving
  • Use analytics to design solutions for key business questions and provide support for cross functional business units and the overall enterprise. Throughout the analytics process, incorporate proactive outreach on trends, best practices, and data analytics methodology.
  • Analytics Tools
  • Work with the Data Analytics Acceleration and Innovation leadership teams to optimize and evaluate the best-in-class tools to create new capabilities for data analytics at RSM
  • Advanced Data Analytics and Data Modeling
  • Execute and articulate complex statistical and analytics techniques (e.g., machine learning, natural language processing, etc.) with stakeholder feedback
  • Project Management and Analyst Functions
  • Balance multiple small to medium size projects across a variety of areas and manage client expectations, outcomes and return on investment to meet business partner or stakeholder needs

Experience Required

  • Bachelors in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Management Information Systems, Statistics, Engineering or similar from an accredited college/university

  • Minimum 4 years relevant work experience

  • Able to understand various data structures and common methods in data transformation

  • Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SQL , etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets

  • Experience in SQL/NoSQL or other DB query language as well as DB design and development

  • Experience with data analytics and/or visualizing tools: Alteryx, Tableau, PowerBI or similar

  • Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving ability

  • Excellent communication, relationship skills and a strong team player

  • Strong presentation skills. Ability to present statistical results to lay persons in an easy to understand way

  • Intellectually curious and willing to learn

  • Ability to thrive in an fast paced and ambiguous environment

Experience Preferred

  • Masters in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Operations Research, or similar from an accredited college/university

  • Experience in statistical modeling, machine learning, or data mining practice/techniques: GLM/Regression, Random Forest, Boosting, Trees, text mining, social network analysis, etc.

  • Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks

  • Knowledge of cloud-computing/web services: Redshift, S3, Spark

  • Utilizing Statistical Natural Language Processing (NLP), lexical analysis and semantic processing

  • Technical project or product management

  • Understanding of the RSM Tax, Audit and/or Consulting lines of business preferred
