JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for day to day operation of the Data Analytics group. Supervises staff including interviewing and hiring, performance reviews, and disciplinary process. Coordinates the source and use of data in mission-critical applications to ensure that all core data set elements are defined, collected, stored, and interfaced accurately in support of the strategic business objectives of Anderson Hospital. Supports the analytics and decision support efforts of the organization to ensure that critical management reporting is available to managers and administrators on a timely basis. Actively coaches and mentors staff and assists them in development of their application skills and professional growth. Provides exceptional analytics expertise to the department and assists staff as needed.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works well under stress or tight deadlines and remains flexible to changing systems and processes.
Approaches problems analytically, using good judgment, common sense, and technical knowledge when problem solving.
Supervises staff including interviewing and hiring, performance reviews, and disciplinary process.
Facilitates a process to define and maintain a core data set of clinical, financial and administrative data elements.
Develops and maintains a set of standard definitions of all core data set elements.
Works with end users, vendors and the IT team to develop interface specifications, test plans, and upgrade strategies.
Develops proficiency in available decision support tools especially Business Objects, SQL and any other designated modules in order to better assess end user data access options.
Facilitates the development and use of common terms and standard data definitions across internal and external entities, including the Health Information Exchange (HIE).
Ensures testing of all updates/new releases for the applications for which they have responsibility is completed
Documents, communicates and follows-up on all reported problems, enhancement requests, and system change requests.
Keeps Information Technology Director and Applications Manager informed of all events affecting hospital operations.
Works with Media Services Coordinator as needed to develop training materials for assigned applications and provide leader lead training as needed.
Contributes to the productivity and efficient operation of the department through skills transfer, continued professional growth and self-education of new technologies.
Attend meetings as needed to provide assistance to hospital leaders on the use and/or development of assigned applications.
Works with other analysts to assure that a consistent approach is followed throughout all clinical and financial applications.
Works with technical staff to help resolve hardware and network problems impacting assigned applications. Presents unresolved hardware/software problems to Technology Manager for resolution.
Takes equal amounts of after-hours and weekend "call" with other "front call" staff.

Qualifications
EDUCATION REQUIRMENTS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Education Level:
Associates degree with a minimum of 2 years experience in database management in a hospital setting.
Experience Requirement:
Expert knowledge on databases, data structures, SQL, reporting software
WORKING CONDITIONS: EXPOSURE CATEGORY III
