The mission of the Data Intelligence team in the Early Clinical Development (ECD) department at Genentech is to optimize the support of clinical systems to provide high-quality clinical trial data insights and to offer data science-related consultation to the study teams. We leverage cutting-edge data science and operation data management to facilitate the study start-up planning. We develop advanced analytical data visualization and conduct predictive analysis to increase the efficiency of clinical data review and clinical operations with the ultimate goal of driving data-driven decision-making throughout the study lifecycle.

The Opportunity:

The Data Analytics Leader will lead and drive the development of R programming packages and RShiny applications for the Early Clinical Development within Genentech. They will contribute to the innovation of RShiny apps for advanced data visualization and enable/effectively support the safety signaling detections for early-phase clinical trials. In addition, they will create therapeutic area-specific R packages or RShiny apps to improve the success, efficiency, and quality of clinical data reporting, data exploration, and advanced visualization. Your responsibilities may include:

• Design, develop, validate, and maintain RShiny apps and R programs to accelerate the data-driven decision for early phase clinical trials.

• Work with Clinical Scientists, ClinOps, Biostats, and Data Analytics Leaders to define the data integration/processing, and data exploration requirements, architect visualization systems, and implement solutions to user requirements.

• Design and build dashboards for Clinical Operation, and Sample management using Rstudio/RShiny, Spotfire, Tableau, or Python.

• Develop reusable dashboards, analytical reports, re-usable datasets, and analytic integrations, working with study team or TA leads, and data scientists where required.

• Act as R/RShiny programming SME. Provide technical guidance to the development within ECDi. Lead and may approve UATs.

• Lead the training and implementation of R/Studio/Shiny programming technology. Collaborate with Product Development user groups or developers.

• Develop and support analytics best practices and troubleshoot complex challenges.

Who you are:

• Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Informatics, Information Systems, Engineering or related fields

• 7+ years' relevant experience in Pharmaceutical, Biotech, CRO or etc.

• Proven prior experience with R analytics, RShiny, Spotfire, Tableau, Python, SAS or any combination.

• Advanced working knowledge of all aspects of the R or SAS programming language used in clinical trials programming.

• Knowledge of early phases of clinical drug development.

Preferred:

• Advanced working knowledge of CDISC SDTM and ADaM, and extensive experience of their implementation in clinical trials analysis is preferred.

• Advanced knowledge in database structures and set-up is a plus.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, California is 159,000 and 295,400. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
