Bowhead seeks a Mid-Level Data Analytics Engineer to join our team supporting the Program Office for Logistics Integrated Information Systems
- Marine Corps (LI2S-MC) in Stafford, VA. The Data Analytics engineer will work directly with the client analyzing complex and unique technical support assignments and lead or collaborate with engineers, cybersecurity personnel, logisticians, and program analysts within a scaled agile environment.
The Data Analytics engineer will design and create data systems and structures for efficient data storage, retrieval, and analysis. They will develop and maintain data models, database schemas, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirement. They will ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform database modeling and simulation and administration (Creating Entity Relationship Diagrams; developing, implementing, and maintaining database model/metadata utilizing database normalization methodologies; designing, implementing & maintaining data referential integrity; developing, implementing, and maintaining database schema from database model; web site design, implementation and maintenance and designing, implementing and maintaining complex reports/graphs/dashboards).• Analyze organizational business processes, identifying, and quantifying business reporting and data analysis requirements and performing complex data analysis in support of those processes and reporting requirements.• Support the Government by providing a standard common business vocabulary, recommend strategic data requirements, outline high level integrated designs to meet these requirements, and align with enterprise strategy and related business architecture. • Support data architecture design and development to include development of models, policies, rules or standards that govern which data is collected, and how that data is stored, arranged, integrated, and used in data systems and in programs.• Transform raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software. • Apply data mining, data modeling, natural language processing, and machine learning to extract and analyze information from large structured and unstructured datasets.
Qualifications
- A BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline. MA/MS degree preferred.• 4-10 years or more of professional experience • Experience with Navy or Marine Corps programs preferred.• Proven ability to work on high visible or mission critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties independently. • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite
- Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, Government personnel, and other stakeholders.• Strong interpersonal skills, good judgment, and the ability to lead a team or perform independently.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate must favorably pass a Public Trust background investigation. Candidates with an In-Scope DoD security clearance are highly encouraged to apply. US Citizenship is required.
