Position Overview:

If you are a STEM student who enjoys collaborating with the team to manage a robust, systematic, interdisciplinary approach that transforms customer needs into simplified and holistic data-analytic system solutions, this may be the opportunity for you. We are currently looking for a Data Analytics Engineer Intern, this position is located near our San Diego office in Carlsbad, CA. In this program you will develop design and build machines and devices that enable humans to live and work.

In this program you will learn:

  • How to perform exploratory and targeted data analyses using descriptive statistics and other methods

  • How to design data requirements to bring together data from multiple systems for analysis and model development purposes. Prepares and analyzes data to develop recommendations and strategies.

  • Assist in the creation and implementation of predictive models and analytics tools.

  • Assist in the identification, generation, and selection of features from various structured and unstructured data sets. Identifies approaches to model high dimensional sparse data that may require the use of imputation methods.

  • Develop analytics to address customer needs and opportunities.

  • Work alongside software developers, software engineers and data engineers to translate algorithms into viable solutions

  • How to perform exploratory and targeted data analyses using descriptive statistics and other methods

  • Assist in the development and execution of a long-term data strategy that would be necessary for the efficient execution of initiatives

Position Qualifications


  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in statistics, math, computer science or engineering

  • Experience in or exposure with parametric and continuous data.

  • Must be on track to graduate by June of 20210

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8


  • Work or coursework experience and knowledge of R, Matlab, Python or Scala.

  • Knowledge of building time series, spatial, or forecasting models for prediction.

  • Experience in bringing predictive models and other analytics tools to production required.

  • Background in data mining, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, statistics, or probability.

  • Knowledge of random forest, decision tree models and Bayesian inference.
