Data Analytics Analyst

Farm Bureau Financial Services is seeking an innovative and motivated professional to join a collaborative team that uses data analytics to measure marketing and sales initiatives and inform decision making and strategy. This individual will develop and execute projects using statistical analysis, segmentation, attribution, reporting, data visualization and ad hoc analysis on competitors, consumers, clients, and agents. This role is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for mining data for actionable insights and presenting results visually through Power BI in support of enhancing our client/member and agent experiences.

What You'll Do:

• Determine the success of marketing, sales and client/member services (call centers, billing, etc.) programs and initiatives by analyzing production and performance data and presenting results and insightful conclusions in a non-technical manner

• Highly leverage Power BI for data visualization, analysis and reporting for interactive and automated solutions to business requests

• Interpret and quantify results by building database queries to synthesize data, applying the appropriate statistical tests, oftentimes across multiple disparate data sources

• Develop recommendations/solutions and present results to internal customers

• Collaborate with internal marketing, sales & distribution, and business operations teams

• Manage a variety of projects and tasks simultaneously and deliver solutions on time and within requirements

What It Takes to Join Our Team:

• College degree (Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Finance, or Business preferred) or equivalent plus one-year relevant experience preferred. Data research and analysis experience preferred.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

• Experience with Power BI or equivalent preferred.

• Experience with SQL, R or Python preferred.

• Experience with relational databases preferred.

• Ability to merge and analyze data from various sources and of differing formats.

• Must have strong analytical and logical skills and be able to learn/apply new software and capture, analyze and synthesize data and report results.

• Self-starter who will take initiative and find innovative solutions to achieve business objectives.

• Must have problem solving and organizational skills with high attention to detail.

• Ability to work from our office in West Des Moines, Iowa.
