Our challenge

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Data Analyst to join our analytics team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL, Python, R, and various analytics platforms, with specific experience in the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance domain. The role involves working with large datasets to provide insights and support decision-making across the organization.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Warren, NJ is $100k - $115k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain SQL databases, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.

  • Implement robust data analysis models and algorithms using Python and R.

  • Generate actionable insights from complex datasets to support P&C insurance operations.

  • Design and create data reports and visualizations for stakeholders using analytics software.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver solutions.

  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy in all analytics endeavors.

  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.

  • Collaborate with IT and data management teams to expand and enhance data collection and analytics capabilities.

  • Provide technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new data-related software and initiatives to support and enhance our existing systems.

  • Document analytics processes, procedures, and results effectively to facilitate knowledge sharing.

Requirements:

You are:

  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in data analysis, with a focus on the P&C insurance industry.

  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with complex query development.

  • Strong programming skills in Python and R.

  • Experience with analytics and visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

  • Knowledge of P&C insurance principles, trends, and key metrics.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.

It would be great if you also had:

  • Advanced degree in a related field.

  • Professional certifications related to data analytics or P&C insurance.

  • Experience with machine learning techniques and predictive modelling.

  • Familiarity with cloud-based data analytics platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
