The Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness has openings for two full-time University Staff (unclassified) Data Analyst positions.

The Data Analyst will participate in several efforts of the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness (OIRE). This includes responding to recurring and ad hoc requests for data/information about CU Denver and CU Anschutz.
The primary responsibilities of this position are to:
Respond to requests for information and analysis from within CU Denver and CU Anschutz (administration, school/colleges, faculty, staff, and students) by combining, analyzing, and interpreting data resulting from operational activities of CU Denver | Anschutz to provide information that supports institutional planning, policy formulation and decision making.
Prepare mandatory and ad hoc analyses and reports for CU System administration, state/federal agencies, and other external constituencies.
Organize, combine, summarize, and analyze data about students and/or faculty/staff from a variety of sources, including identification of new or enhanced sources as needed.
Design and adjust data models to respond flexibly to a constantly evolving and dynamic analytics agenda.
Must be able to use a variety of tools to present, summarize, and manipulate data (including creating tables, charts and graphs).

Salary and Benefits:
The hiring range for this position has been established at $55,000 to $68,000 and is commensurate with skills and experience.
This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

A bachelor's degree in business administration, social sciences, information systems, or a directly related field from an accredited institution and 1 year of professional level experience in data analysis and reporting.
Experience working with SQL, SAS, SPSS or other data management or data warehousing tools.
Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses, if applicable.
Three years of professional level experience in data analysis and reporting.
Experience in data visualization tools, particularly Tableau
Experience designing reports in COGNOS
Experience in higher education analytics or similar role
Experience analyzing human resources and/or student related data
Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
Outstanding customer service skills.
Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
Proficiency in using data from data warehouses/relational databases and assembling data from a variety of sources.
Understanding of relational database concepts and queries.
Ability to analyze implications of changes in methods, input data, and policies.
Proven skills in statistical methods, predictive analytic models, and/or related analytic techniques
