DATA ANALYST

We are seeking an experienced Business Intelligence professional to join our Operations staff who supports the Bank's headquarters in Glen Head, Long Island and 52 Bank locations on Long Island and in NYC.

The Data Analyst administers the Banks Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence and Analytics applications. Using report writing tools such as Cognos, develops new and maintains existing reports for end users and management.

Serving as the Banks subject matter expert (SME), develops documentation, methodology, and framework for reporting. Designs, develops, tests, implements and modifies reports and dashboards.

Understanding the Banks core applications the Data Analyst is responsible to build and QA reports using core bank application data including Deposit, Loan and G/L. The Data Analyst monitors automated processes and provides support and troubling shooting for critical activities which may include weekends, evenings and holidays.

Other responsibilities include processing and distribution of legacy reports, analysis of end user needs to develop requirements documentation including data flow, support users utilizing self-service report writing tools, maintaining user access through Data Warehouse Administration, migrating Hyperion reports to the new report system Cognos.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Computer Science/related field or equivalent work experience in Banking/IT/Payment Processing Systems with 2 years data analytics experience.

Ability to effectively plan, manage, prioritize and work on multiple tasks and provide quality deliverables on schedule

Highly adaptable to new technologies

Ability to communicate technical information to a wide range of end-users

Knowledge of data warehouse fundamentals and with experience supporting data warehouses

Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic project management tools

Cognos Business Analytic experience preferred

Familiarity with ETL and Data Governance preferred

SQL query development experience a plus

Dashboard implementation (Qlik/Tableau) experience a plus

Serving as the business' point of contact for troubleshooting, vendor support and IT coordination, acts as or assists the Project Manager for application installation and upgrades. Provides internal customer service support through phone, email and remote sessions. Logs support issues and tracks through closure to ensure the highest level of service. The Application Support Analyst supports departments with application installations/upgrades including testing. Ensures applications align with Security, IT, data governance and change management policies. Works with vendors and business to identify, design, test and implement efficiency enhancements. Other responsibilities include identifying, tracking and taking ownership of issues through resolution, prepares training materials, job aids, documentation for internal users. Performs a variety of technical duties related to bank applications.
