Job Title: Data Analyst

Job Description:

• The Data Analyst serves as a productive, professional, individual contributor on faculty data and assists and trains College of Science faculty and department heads in faculty activity tracking and reporting utilizing a variety of enterprise data solutions available at the university. This position extracts, manipulates, analyzes and assesses faculty and student data to support information requests and enable informed decision making by college leadership. The data analyst provides reporting to support the operational needs of college data consumers. This position assists the Strategic Data Manager in the guidance of projects performed by student data assistants.

This is a hybrid position where you will work on the West Lafayette campus and have the opportunity to work some remote days.

What We're Looking For:

Education and Experience Needed:

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Math, Computer Science, Business, Behavioral and Social Sciences, or closely related field

• Two (2) years of experience in data or computer-related field, business operations, behavioral or social sciences, education, or related experience

Skills Needed:

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide analysis and interpretation of data.

• Ability to:

• communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences including the ability to present findings and maintain process documentation.

• maintain confidentiality with sensitive data.

• prioritize and work independently while managing multiple concurrent projects.

• Self-motivated with attention to detail and quality.

• Knowledge of relational databases, including query writing and/or reporting tools (Cognos and Python preferred)

• Knowledge of data visualization tools (Tableau preferred)
