What We Need:

As the Data Analyst Intern with Bandwidth International Product Team, you'll be given the opportunity to work with the International team providing carrier cost evaluation and visibility dashboards, rate change and route updating visibility and analysis of call completion as well as assisting with developing International Long Distance rates to all countries.

What You'll Do:

  • Rate Deck Analysis of customer target rates - comparing customer targets to our costs and assessing the ability to meet targets.

  • Work with the International Team to develop custom and baseline International rate decks.

  • Work to develop automated tooling capabilities that will take in two data sets and compare and deliver a rate deck output.

What You'll Need:

  • Working towards a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math or an equivalent course of study

  • 0-3 years of experience

  • Experience or familiarity with big data tools. Knowledge or experience with Python / R and SQL programming language. Excel knowledge, database architectures, data models, query languages and reporting. Mathematical and visualization functions within databases and spreadsheets

  • Excellent pattern recognition and predictive modeling skills

  • Proficiency in conducting research and development of statistical learning models for data analysis. Excellent communications skills (written and oral)

  • Interest in Global destinations, especially Global dialing codes

  • A passion for creating spreadsheets/dashboards

  • Curiosity for creating efficiency

  • Good sense of humor!

Major Tasks to be Performed: Develop a robust annual report to demonstrate the components of the HUB Office. The selected intern will support a full range of activities required to conceptualize and draft the content, layout and design of the annual report. HUB supporting staff will be assigned to assist in creating the framework and draft for the reporting, content, reviewing, editing and proofing of information. The sources to compile the information will vary to include internal data sources as well as interfacing with community partners Final Product or Outcome Anticipated: A completed Annual Report & Framework for Office Procedures Manual, a general understanding of supplier diversity issues, and hands-on experience in public service. Academic Majors Desired: Communications, Journalism, Information Technology, Marketing, Business, Public Administration, Political Science Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies MS applications, Critical Thinking, Research and Analysis, Data analytics, Superior Customer Service, Positive Attitude, Receptiveness leadership, Interpersonal, Collaboration and Time Management Minimum Education and Experience Requirements * An applicant must be a permanent North Carolina resident attending a college, university, law school, community college or technical institute in North Carolina or a North Carolina resident attending an equivalent institution out of state. * Applicants must carry a 2.5 or greater overall grade point average on a 4.0 scale. * Applicant must be at least 18 years old by January 1, 2020. * Community college students must have completed their first year completed before beginning the internship. * Applicants must be continuing their education in the fall following their participation in the program. * To qualify for a law internship, applicants must have completed at least one year of law school before the beginning of the internship, unless other majors are listed. * Students having previously held paid internships with this program are not eligible to apply. * Applicants must be willing and able to work full-time for the entire 10-week internship. Applicants must be able to provide legal proof of identity and work authorization within three working days of employment.
