Data Analyst - Information ManagementMarket Range 11We are looking for a highly motivated data analyst to provide full-time support to the Y-12 National Security Complex Department Overhead and Tech Transfer business organizations through a University of Tennessee subcontract with Consolidated Nuclear Security, LLCThe Data Analyst will work to build predictive models and lead process improvement projects that are focused on complex data collection, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of findings. The Data Analyst will also develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize data efficiency and quality.Responsibilities will focus on data management and data analytics. Duties will include: * Produce predictive models derived from multiple data sets and analytical methods * Complete analyses relevant to Indirect Program and Technology Transfer subject matter and communicate analysis technique and conclusions effectively via verbal and written means * Support annual program planning efforts, and monitor for variances during the execution year; identify potential variance drivers by performing analysis of actual performance * Assist with risk analysis of multi-year plans * Consult with clients to understand needs and develop tools to collect or transform data; new data collection methods may include design and deployment of MS Access databases or SharePoint lists as an initial concept * Assist with software quality assurance tasks in support of the company's multi-year planning database * Perform analysis to ensure source data and reported data are valid, and apprise stakeholders of data validity issues * Support procurement, implementation, and full deployment of intellectual property management software * Gain an understanding of the company's department overhead program, the company's cost model, and the interrelationship between direct-scope and overhead * Gain an understanding of the Technology Transfer programA successful candidate has advanced data analytics and visualization skills and has/is* an understanding of relational databases* knowledgeable of activities related to all stages data management and data lifecycle* able to think critically* excellent written and oral technical communication skills* adept at working with diverse stakeholders and multiple teams* highly motivated, self-learner, team player, and strong work ethic* competences in creating, assimilating and conveying technical material in a concise and effective manner* strong skills in MS office suite (specifically excel and MS access), MS Sharepoint, standard statistical softwareAn outstanding candidate has*

JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: This position will support program evaluation, maintenance of accreditation, and achievement of strategic planning goals by providing oversight of all activities relating to; collection of outcome data from multiple internal and external sources, organization and maintenance of databases, analysis of complex data to monitor program performance and trends, generation and distribution of intuitive reports and dashboards to communicate findings to administration, program directors and other stakeholders, and documentation and tracking the flow of data and actions taken to support continuous quality improvement. In addition, the position will provide leadership and technical expertise for the planning and implementation of academic technologies and systems used by the College of Medicine. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Regularly reviews program variables and outcome measures for the purposes of ongoing program evaluation, maintenance of accreditation, and achievement of strategic planning goals. * Documents and tracks the flow of data and review of reports related to decisions and actions taken to support continuous quality improvement and reports this information to the Associate Dean and Director for Graduate Medical Education and other relevant stakeholders * Directs efforts related to the collection, organization, analysis, and reporting of evaluation data within the Office of Graduate Medical Education * Designs processes to ensure data integrity and efficiency * Applies statistical methods to identify trends and make correlations across datasets * Interprets and reports contextual data to GMEC subcommittees for evaluation of compliance * Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED) EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years of relevant experience, including direct experience working with datasets and generating reports; OR Master's Degree, two (2) years of relevant experience, including direct experience working with datasets and generating reports. Position requires Data analysis, research and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in various computer software applications including web-based systems, database, spreadsheet, and office management systems (Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint.). Experience in higher education or accreditation preferred. Excellent organizational skills, critical thinking skills, and sound judgement. Must have good verbal and written communication skills, the ability to prioritize work assignments and meet deadlines, and the ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously. Must be able to work independently. Must be computer proficient; proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is required; experience with additional applications, including FileMaker Pro, Qualtrics, and Banner is preferred; experience with SAS, SPSS, or other statistical analysis software is preferred.
