Data Analyst, AIG Commercial Finance

Position Summary:

The Data Analyst role will support the Analytical Instrument Group (AIG) in driving digital transformation across AIG commercial finance organization. The candidate will report to AIG Sr Data Analytics Manager and will be responsible for developing analytics, tools, and dashboards to empower business insights and improve decision making for AIG commercial teams. The ideal candidate will have deep technical abilities and practical experience working with large data sets, as well as solid communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with other teams. This is a highly visible role in which an early career talent can gain a demonstrable understanding of the usage of data analytics, business intelligence, and commercial management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop data analytics, models, and tools that meet specific commercial needs and requirements to drive better insights and improve decision-making, by collaborating with Division Commercial and Finance teams

  • Build dashboards and reports to measure key trends and commercial performances, enabling commercial leaders to quickly diagnose funnel health and commercial execution, and producing insights for commercial and BU teams to assess opportunities and risks and take actions

  • Analyze data quality, accuracy, and overall readiness. Responsible for data clean-up, integration, transformation, and validation; collaborate with D&T and IT teams to build robust, efficient, and reliable data pipelines for various data analytics needs

  • Build use cases and develop mock-ups. Leverage business iterations to refine models and tools. Lead user acceptance testing (UAT), demos, and provide regular training for tools and dashboards, and lead post-launch improvements

  • Develop data analytics/science models to empower commercial teams to identify new leads, cross-selling opportunities, market trend shifts

  • Experiment predictive modeling to improve forecast accuracy to better inform commercial strategy and resource deployment, and supply/demand planning

  • Proactively identify business problems and areas of opportunities and translate business needs into quantitative analyses that enable business to uncover patterns and insights

  • Collaborate with D&T and IT teams to deploy and improve data practices, improving data accessibility and quality, facilitating desired behavior for better data governance and data-driven decision making culture

  • Collaborate with Corporate Data Science and Commercial Analytics teams to learn and embrace company innovation and standard processes

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • BS or MS Degree in math, statistics, computer science, data science or related

  • Minimum 3+ years of work experience in data analytics, digital enablement, or related field

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and experience of building data models

  • Proficiency in Excel, SQL/ Python/ R, Power BI

  • Strong presentation skills and ability to articulate sophisticated data models and business problems

  • Ability to work across a matrix org structure and effectively influence business partners

  • Self-motivated, able to drive actions to completion with intensity and ownership

  • Passionate about learning business and data analytics/ science

  • Ability to travel (10%)

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $83,300.00-$125,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
