Data Analyst II

As part of the team, you will be responsible for the development, design and execution of data-driven models, algorithms, and analysis to generate actionable insights and improve business outcomes related to physician engagement and membership. Serve as primary liaison between PE data and analytics and business teams within the AMA leveraging digital data and insights to support business outcomes.
Other Responsibilities will include:
Design and develop models to explain variance in membership and engagement using statistical techniques such as cluster analysis, logistic regression, interrupted time series, and control-group matching algorithms. Design, develop, and maintain new data-driven mechanisms and tools to continuously improve the relationship between the AMA and physicians, students, and residents. Develop and maintain new metrics, attributes, and measures in pursuit of model development. Work with business and IT teams to implement model findings.
Develop and maintain statistical reports with key metrics to measure business trends and performance. Leverage deep understanding of all database systems and data relationships including digital data repositories (i.e., Google Analytics, AMS, etc.), AMA Physician Master File, AMA Data Warehouse, and other disparate sources. Serve as technical resource to business and IT teams requiring analytic insights and project development.
Conduct statistical analysis from data drawn from the AMA data warehouse, digital data repositories, and related data from other sources. Produce reports and graphic representations as required. Enhance and improve systems. Assist users with queries and reporting needs as necessary.
Bachelor degree required; degree in marketing or business administration preferred.
Minimum of five years of experience in direct response and/or email marketing.
Minimum of three to five years of experience in digital marketing.
Knowledge of Google Analytics is required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to interact effectively with various levels of internal management and with external vendors.
Proficiency in a relational database management system (SQL), PC software applications including data analysis and query (Access), and spreadsheet applications (Excel) are required. Proficiency in statistical packages (SAS, R, Python) required.
Proficiency in data visualization packages (Power BI, Tableau) is preferred.
Knowledge of experimental design and inferential statistics is preferred.
Polished interpersonal skills. The ability to form relationships with internal and external customers that will facilitate open communication and the sharing of information.
Ability to work in a multi-tasked environment with potential for rapidly changing priorities.
Excellent analytical, root-causing problem solving skills, process mapping and data modeling skills.
Ability to create queries and reports based on user criteria. Ability to gather, interpret and analyze data for the purposes of backend analysis, forecasting and planning of marketing campaigns and/or product enhancements or introductions.
Strong organizational skills and project management experience. Must have the ability to prioritize tasks on multiple highly visible projects.
