Overview Join the HJF Team! HJF is seeking a Data Analyst I to provide analytic support to epidemiologists, biostatisticians and scientists and ensure data quality and data integrity.

This is the first of three levels in the Data Analyst hierarchy. This position will be in support of the Surgical Critical Care Initiative (SC2i). The Surgical Critical Care Initiative (SC2i), funded by the Department of Defense was established in 2013. SC2i is a Uniformed Services University center that leverages legacy information from service members, and critically ill civilian and military patients to develop biomarker-driven clinical decision support tools (CDSTs) with the goal of improving patient clinical outcomes and reducing costs across the injury/disease cycle.

This is a Full Time 40 hours a week position for a duration of 6 months, beginning on the first day of employment. Note: This work site requires that Non-US Citizen incumbents have lived in the US three out of the past five years. The Henry M.

We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing, and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners.

HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals. Responsibilities Ability to write code. Writes computer code to import, clean, transform and validate data from multiple sources.

Participate in code reviews and utilize best practices in documentation. Consults with programmers and end-users concerning the outline of data requirements. Assists in making data accessible to biostatisticians, bioinformaticians, clinician scientists, programmers, and other end users.

Tests data to identify data integrity issues. Responsible for the validity of data contained in a database file. Troubleshoots problems concerning database records and communicate with co-workers and end users of the system.

Performs data archive procedures within established guidelines. Participates in data-related projects, including but not limited to data normalization, data maintenance, data research, data standardization, data product development, and data quality assurance. May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor.

This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role. Qualifications Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge and application of data cleansing and migration techniques Demonstrated analytical skills and passion for analyzing and understanding data. Experience with object-oriented programming languages, particularly Python and R, and familiarity with SQL based relational databases.

Ability to investigate data issues and participate in remediation. Data analysis skills to assist gathering and solving data quality. Ability to review detailed documents to validate data in operating.

Understanding of the software system development lifecycle (SDLC) and experience in writing requirements Experience writing requirements and software specifications. Team oriented with ability to work independently. Ability to obtain and maintain a T1/Public Trust background check.

Physical Capabilities Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods. Work Environment Set in an Office environment. Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree Minimum of 0-2 years' experience required.

Some positions or sites may require that the incumbent be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Proof of vaccination may be required.
