The Business Data Analyst will be responsible for the reporting and analysis needs of the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) which supports strategy articulation, portfolio management, program management, project management and change management. This position will be project-focused which includes schedule, dependency, health, return, change management, and risks and issues. The Business Data Analyst will need strong MS Excel skills to validate the accuracy, analyze and improve the quality of the EPMO's reporting deliverables. The stakeholders include members of the EPMO, Sales, Technology, and project managers. The Business Data Analyst will report to a Senior Manager.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • Prepare and analyze recurring weekly and monthly reports used to govern and manage capital development portfolios

  • Compile data from various sources to generate repeatable reporting solutions.

  • Work with source system points of contact to troubleshoot and resolve data anomalies and errors.

  • Document the report creation process and sources of underlying data.

  • Recommend improvements to streamline the report creation process; support efforts to identify and close gaps in information needed for reporting.

  • Operate compliance routines and reports to assess and drive the accuracy, quality and completeness of information.

  • Deliver insightful analyses, quickly and accurately using a combination of visual story telling as appropriate (MS Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau)

Minimum

  • 1 years of experience in related field (i.e., business data analysis, metrics, etc.)

  • Expert in Microsoft Excel

  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft SharePoint

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize and analyze information with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Able to structure and process qualitative or quantitative data and draw insightful conclusions

  • Demonstrated experience with financial reporting and/or operations reporting

  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization

  • Demonstrated experience in summarizing information into simple stories

Preferred

  • Experience with reporting packages such as Tableau

  • BS/BA degree in information systems, business, finance or related field

  • Experience in a PMO / Governance organization

  • Experience in the Managed Services industry
