Position Title Data Analyst, Hofstra/Northwell School of Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies Position Number 896436 School/Division School of Nursing Department Hofstra/Northwell School of Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies, Nursing Full-Time or Part-Time Full-Time Description

Reporting to the Senior Assistant Dean of Operations and Strategy, the Data Analyst works directly with the School of Nursing. The Data Analyst will be responsible for supportive IT and operational functions including program monitoring and evaluations targeted at program process and outcome objectives and meeting HRSA evaluation reporting requirements. This is a full-time, onsite position; work for this role is performed on campus.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Facilitates all student activities related to the grant requirements.

  • Verifies and documents student records related to grant requirements.

  • Processes student placements at affiliated and non-affiliated clinical training sites.

  • Verifies student health records including health assessment and immunization records to meet university and hospital requirements.

  • Distributes and manages all necessary paperwork to the School of Nursing, hospitals and community organizations for students completing various clinical rotations.

  • Performs general data entry procedures to update, modify and schedule student rotations based upon requirements related to grant activities.

  • Provides valuable customer service to clinical students, clinical sites, and community partners.

  • Responds to student inquires via phone and/or email.

  • Coordinates communications with clinical sites, School of Nursing faculty and community stakeholders.

  • Generates reports to ensure students are advancing appropriately to maintain graduation eligibility.

  • Maintains data integrity in student, school, and clinical site databases, ensuring schedules, rotations, contact information (students, hospitals, affiliates) and grant award information are updated on a regular basis.

  • Utilizes data mining to extract information from data sets and identify correlations and patterns.

  • Organizes and analyzes information into comprehensible structures.

  • Utilizes tools and techniques to visualize data in easy-to-understand formats, such as diagrams and graphs.

  • Oversees tracking completion of student program surveys in a timely manner.

  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure a seamless navigation towards graduation.

  • Collaborates with community partners, school and university leadership, and clinical site as a primary point of contact.

  • Ensures compliance with HRSA requirements related to budget, reporting and timeline management.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • 1-3 years of experience in data analytics.

  • Demonstrated outstanding computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Must possess excellent written and communication skills.

  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills to interact tactfully and courteously with students, clinical site partners, community partners and other staff members.

  • Must possess excellent decision making and time management competence.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of policies and procedures relating to undergraduate and graduate education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional experience in a university medical/nursing school setting, preferred.

  • Knowledge of Blackboard software.

  • Professional experience with community outreach, data management, project management, program development, faculty/student development, and customer service a plus.

Salary/Salary Range $62,400-$65,000

Hofstra University provides the above salary* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education.
