Description:

  • Responsible for the design, development and administration of transaction and analytical data constructs/structures. Included within those responsibilities are the areas of data access and delivery technologies. Includes expertise in data quality, data organization, metadata, and data profiling. May provide technical support on data warehouse teams. Data set sizes are usually huge (in excess of hundreds of millions of records). Demonstrated ability to move from one sequential assignment to the next (work environment and priorities can change quickly depending on business needs).

  • Demonstrated ability to move data between production systems and across multiple platforms

  • 5+ years' experience with Financial Services clients

  • Experience with major querying tools desired

  • Coordinating others work while involved with multiple work streams

Desired

  • Common skill sets Oracle, VB and UNIX 5+ years' experience

  • OLAP/SQL Tools 5+ yrs experience with MVS, Teradata, SAS, Brio or comparable

  • Hyperion desired

  • Ability to communicate strategies and processes around data modeling and architecture to cross functional groups and senior levels

  • Ability to influence multiple levels on highly technical issues and challenges

VIEW JOBS 1/12/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-04-12T00:00 The Data Analyst will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting data to support the Chronic Effects of Neurotrauma Consortium (CENC). This position will work under the supervision of a Data Manager/Programmer to perform data quality checks on incoming study data, generate queries to resolve out-of-range data values and conduct data cleaning and database preparation for the CENC statistical analyses. This position will develop advanced data lists, visualizations and reports using a variety of business intelligence, statistical, charting as well as other reporting tools. This position will work with the core CENC team as well as the offices of IT security at CENC VA sites to ensure that data is collected and stored according to the highest standards, in adherence with all HIPPA and other relevant human subjects' protections regulations. A strong understanding of research data elements and data presentation fundamentals are needed to help support the department in building and measuring effective strategies. The well qualified candidate will have an understanding of and proven experience working with statistical software such as SAS and SPSS as well as programming languages such as SQL. Minimum Qualifications ?A degree in computer science, information systems, data science or a related field or training and work experience at a level that equates to a degree. ?Demonstrated experience using SAS and SPSS. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. ?Demonstrated experience using SQL for relational databases. ?A passion for data. Great analytical skills. Able to define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and provide actionable recommendations. ?High attention to detail and the ability to audit work for accuracy and quality. ?Ability to manage multiple projects/campaigns simultaneously ?Ability to read, understand and translate complex and highly detailed user requirements into accurate project specifications. ?Must have the ability to work in a diverse environment. ?Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential.
