Our Data Analytics team has grown very large quickly, and our business has altogether grown in complexity. While maintaining autonomy of data analysts, we built a company-wide coordination team that actively manages analytical expertise, defines and enforces usage policies as well as drives alignment across teams.

What you'll do

Analytics stack

To work and serve their clients, the data analysts rely on a stack developed by the R&D team. We need to:

  • Leverage this pool of data on analytics usage to build the best reporting on it

  • Measure footprint of the Analytics community on R&D resources

  • Optimize that footprint


Even if AX across the world all have different objectives, we need to foster AX collaboration and contributions through the following topics:

  • Kick start and lead initiatives to remove identified duplication.

  • Define best practices and workflows on shared topics.

  • Contribute to the global knowledge base.


This position will be the voice and ears of the team for the whole American continent. That means doing the following tasks:

  • Communicate all Global Analytics communication to the local teams.

  • Deliver short and specific training for new features/products.

  • Be the go-to-person for all Analytics questions locally.

  • Spot best/worst practice.

  • Gather unsolicited feedback, collect and communicate any issue/feedback that is expressed locally.

Product ownership

The R&D team is developing tools dedicated to the Data Analysts use internally. For those we need to:

  • Collect the needs from the local AX all across the board

  • Work with the R&D team to prioritize the feature requests and bugfixes

  • Handle roll out, communication, documentation and training organization

Who you are

  • 2-4 years' experience in a BI focused role with a strong technical and strong analytical components (BI consultant, BI analyst, BI developer, BI Product Owner/Manager,)

  • You are passionate about business intelligence, data visualization, and the power of analytics

  • You have a strong experience in one or several of these expertise: Data modelling / Data Scheduling / Data Access / Data Processing / Data Visualization and can argue for hours about how to make them work together always more efficiently

  • You love to share, train and coach; you like when things are done properly, and you can be an ambassador for best practices

  • You are outgoing with good communication skills

  • You are versatile, self-driven, detail-oriented and hands-on

VIEW JOBS 8/14/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-11-12T00:00 Position Summary This position is suitable for a candidate seeking to pursue a career in asset management, with a specific focus on a data analytics. The position will support TCW's Direct Lending team, which operates within the Alternative Products Group, and will be focused specifically on data and performance analytics and related quantitative analysis. Specific responsibilities will be operationally-focused and include the creation, maintenance, and improvement of data tracking and reporting procedures, the development and troubleshooting of the Direct Lending group's data infrastructure, and the creation of ad hoc data reports. These efforts will enhance the group's ability to track and manage investment-level and fund-level performance, support the group's marketing efforts, and enhance overall data analytics capabilities. The candidate must have a background in data management or analytics, a proficiency in SQL and APEX, and have a working knowledge of financial principles. The candidate must be self-motivated and detail oriented, with a strong work ethic and ability to operate both independently and with members of TCW's operations and performance analytics groups. Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills are also required. Essential Duties * Develop, maintain and improve existing data infrastructure across various programs and platforms in order to enhance the group's data analytics capabilities * Creation and maintenance of ad hoc analytic reports in order to improve overall marketing efforts and in response to unique investor requests * Maintain and improve internal performance reporting and data tracking platforms and software * Assist with portfolio management responsibilities, specifically related to performance reporting * Assist with corporate development, fund marketing, and investor questionnaires * Educate other members of the group on data analytic reporting techniques Required Qualifications * Strong academic credentials * Bachelor's Degree in Data Analytics (or equivalent) from a top university; substantial coursework or experience in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field is preferable * At least 3-5 years of related experience in asset management or private equity * Excellent quantitative and analytical skills and a strong attention to detail * Strong verbal and written skills Professional Skills Qualifications * Self-motivated with a strong work ethic * Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment Desired Qualifications * Knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Office suite * Advanced computer skills and proficiency in SQL, APEX, and VBA Macros * Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with particular expertise in Excel & PowerPoint * Demonstrated understanding of financial markets and corporate finance Trust Co Of West New York NY
