Data Analyst, EDI - Contractor

As a Data Analyst Contractor with our EDI team, you will be responsible for extracting and sending outbound EDI files. You will be tasked with ensuring that outbound data is sent accurately and within client processing deadlines, and with tracking daily metrics. A candidate for this position should be comfortable working independently in a technical environment.

Responsibilities:

  • For simple to medium complex file feeds, extract data files, validating results leveraging validating tools, execute work-arounds, and communicating back to internal teams and external teams

  • Perform triage, root cause analysis, and corrections to data issues found during validations

  • Perform triage, root cause analysis, and corrections to data issues reported by customers or exceptions reports

  • Review analysis work performed by global Data Analysts to ensure accuracy

  • Coordinate fixes or improvements to data issues across multiple departments

  • Resolve customer and internal escalations in a timely manner

  • Track on-going operational metrics

  • Execute testing on new product releases for data processing related changes

  • Execute tasks related to operationalizing new process and tool improvements

  • Train new team members on processes and tools for performing Data Analyst duties

  • Identify file specific opportunities to improve our processes or technology to achieve increased efficiency and/or quality

  • Process ad hoc test and production files and open enrollment files

  • Proactively notify internal teams if/when files will not meet their agreed upon deadlines

  • Communicate directly with internal, customer and third party teams regarding data processes and issues

  • Exercise independent judgment in escalating issues to management

  • Develop relationships with internal Benefitfocus teams and customers

  • Occasional weekend and off hours support

  • Time allocation 50 - 75% File Processing, 25 - 50% Analysis/Research

Experience and Skills:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent

  • Must be able to work across multiple departments to support internal customers

  • Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Prior Salesforce experience a plus

  • Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)

This temporary position is responsible to assist the Data Privacy Office with the successful delivery of privacy-related processes and procedures including but not limited to: data quality associated with records/inventory management, privacy program awareness and education, and facilitation and analysis of Privacy Threshold Assessments (PTAs) and Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) as assigned. This individual works with divine guidance to provide or support initiatives that furthers the mission of the Church and reflects the eternal impact of the gospel. Responsibilities * Review and assess privacy risks to the Church related to member, employee, and other personal data via project-based privacy risk/privacy impact assessments. * Update and maintain an accurate data inventory and record of all personal data processing activities. Review asset records in ServiceNow to ensure accuracy prior to coordinating PIAs. * Collaborate and consult with business owners and technologists to complete and assess Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs). * Coordination with Church departments and ICS teams to initiate PIAs. * Assign and follow-up on PIA remediation goals. * Support Church departments with understanding of data privacy solutions; including data inventory, data retention, data protection, data usability, and data integrity. * Assist with presentation and report of findings on PIAs. * Advocate awareness and provide training for the Church's privacy program. * Identify areas of improvement for Church departments relative to managing data privacy. * Communicates program progress, escalations and issue analysis to key stakeholders. Qualifications Education: * Education - BA/BS in related field (e.g. accounting, finance, information systems, etc.) Work Experience: * 3+ plus years of experience working with data and data management Demonstrated Skills & Abilities: * Experience auditing business processes * Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret data. * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. * Good interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills, ability to influence without authority. * Highly motivated to contribute and grow within a complex area of emerging importance. * Proven ability to follow established processes and complex instructions. * Ability and desire to deal with ambiguity, learn quickly and constantly improve. * Highly skilled in the use of MS Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio. * Preferred experience using IT inventory management software (e.g., ServiceNow). * Preferred experience understanding of design and architecture of software running on multiple platforms. * Working knowledge of or exposure to data privacy related, COBIT framework, ISO standards (27002), AICPA privacy principles, and NIST privacy principles. * This job operates in a professional office environment. * To successfully perform the essential functions of the job there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for long periods of time and using computer monitors/equipment.
