Data Analyst / Clinical - Downtown Chicago

Pay Rate: $40-48/hr

Contract to hire 3 month

Supports the overall management and execution of analytic activities on a project-specific basis across all program initiatives. The scope of this function includes, but is not limited to:

  • Storing, retrieving, validating and managing clinical / administrative data

  • Maintaining clinical/program management data quality and accuracy

  • Conducting statistical and methodological appraisal and summaries

  • Performing analysis and synthesis of data

  • Making recommendations based on data analysis and synthesis

  • Design and create analysis and reports that include summaries, graphs, slides, diagrams and summary tables

  • Program maintenance

  • Interacts with staff, and Vendors to collect information and support analytic activities. Collects and analyzes data on health care markets, competitors and health plan performance; contributes to design and completion of project analyses. Summarizes the results of analyses in reports, notes, spreadsheets and charts; contributes to development of presentation slides. Provides data driven recommendations and process improvements

The scope of this function includes, but is not limited to:

  • Report development

  • Data cleaning

  • Data reconciliations

  • Testing

Required Skills

  • Ability to use SAS and Tableau analytic and reporting tools is required

  • Undergraduate degree with emphasis on statistics and analytic methods.

  • Minimum of 3 years business experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis, data collection, synthesis and reporting.

  • Excellent technical proficiency with office oriented tools (e.g. Microsoft Office), with particular emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint, as well as analytic, query and reporting tools

Maintains all transplant statistical data; monitors and distributes necessary transplant information to community physicians and dialysis units; gathers, reviews and analyzes reports on the transplant program to its stakeholders; assists in defining specifications of informational requirements and operational needs. Employees in this class may provide expertise to acquire, manage, design, analyze and generate complex data reports from clinical and financial/administrative databases with the goal of improving patient population health outcomes. In addition, write and update policies as needed based on changes in regulatory guidelines or in response to department needs. Duties: Under the general supervision of higher level personnel, an employee at this level is responsible to provide expertise on data acquisition, management, and report design/generation to administration, clinicians, and health care teams. This may include the responsibility for supervision of lower level staff. A Clinical Practice Data Analyst Specialist typically – ¬ Monitor UNOS, OPTN, and CMS for policy changes and compliance Analyze SRTR data and project outcomes Cross-train with transplant QAPI staff to provide coverage Assist with presenting data at the transplant QAPI meeting, the quarterly transplant team meeting and other meetings as requested. Provide data for research purposes as requested. Provide data for various audits and corrective action plans as needed Supply data for RFI's, ESRD and public aid for Illinois forms as requested. Validate data in UNOS, SRTR and CMS. Write and update policies and guidelines as needed based on changes in regulatory guidelines or in response to department needs. May supervise the orientation and work performance of the lower level staff. Creates data reports from existing databases based on needs analysis of health system leadership, clinicians, and teams and research of best practice Interacts with decision support and informatics professionals to determine efficient capture and merging of information from optimal sources and access to business intelligence tools to generate reports Assists in design of warehouse data sets to provide easy customer access to an integrated repository of clinical, financial, and demographic data supporting the health system's analysis, planning, and improvement needs Utilizes software to generate trended run chart displays and statistical process control charts Assists in analysis of data sets/reports, including interpretation of statistical trends and patterns of variation and implications for improvement initiatives Participates in education/training of individuals or teams on data analysis and interpretation Performs related duties as assigned Qualifications: 1.
