Data Analyst, Career Services
Cincinnati State Technical & Community College specializes in training and educating individuals for the region's workforce needs. The College Career Services Center, along with its Welcome Center and Transfer Center provide a continuum of services to prospective and current students from career exploration to experiential learning to job placement. The Career Services Data Analyst will primarily focus efforts on developing systems that support data collection, and provide analysis of data and outcomes related to student success, completion and career placement. The Data Analyst will be proficient and cross trained in numerous database systems software applications, and have the ability to navigate through these systems.
Responsible for data collection for the Career Services, Welcome Center/Admissions and Transfer Center from several college systems in order to track key outcomes, trends, and performance measures.
Develop and manage a data tracking system consistent with College Institutional Research protocols.
Track regional and national workforce trends, make full use of existing community resources and research related to workforce and career development, and present this information in a concise manner as relevant to the College's career services and transfer activities.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, faculty, administrators, and students to ensure appropriate and confidential data collection, recording, storage, and reporting.
Maintain data integrity and compliance with institutional, federal, and state requirements.
Prepare data for institutional and program reviews of key outcomes as related to the College's Student Success & Completion Plan.
Extract data from multiple databases to meet internal and external needs, including grant proposal development, data mining to facilitate integration of employer relationships throughout the college, and institutional planning.
Design, implement, analyze queries from multiple sources to meet reporting requirements.
Other duties as may be assigned.
Bachelor's degree in social science, technology, business, or other area involving research and analytical skills and/or 3 -5 years' experience in institutional research.
Statistical analysis proficiency.
Experience and using spreadsheets, query language(s), database systems, statistical software, and word processing.
Demonstrated mastery with multiple software programs and databases (Access, Excel, etc.).
Master's Degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution.
Experience in higher education and/or institutional research.
Experience with Ellucian Colleague, and/or Tableau
Experience with career development resources such as Career Coach, National Career Readiness Credential (NCRC), WorkKeys/KeyTrain, CareerLink
Previous experience in higher education, educational and/or market research is desirable.
Demonstrated problem-solving and customer service skills.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to various diverse groups and stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills and an exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage own time and proactively identify and prioritize tasks for multiple concurrent projects.
