Job Summary:

AT&T is seeking a Data Analyst to partner with Entertainment Operations, Product and Engineering teams to build better data capabilities and dig into analysis around the usage and performance of our linear and streaming video experience.

In this role, your objective is to drive understanding and insight by analyzing our current product and user experience. You will work closely with our leadership team to understand analytic needs and communicate insights to the broader organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Solve challenging problems regarding our video platforms by transforming raw data into action driven analysis.

  • Report these insights by building rich, high-visibility reports/dashboards/tools used by our direct stakeholders, senior management and a diverse set of teams across the organization.

  • Conduct end-to-end analysis that includes data gathering, requirements/KPI specifications, processing, statistical analysis, ongoing deliverables and presentations.

  • Build statistical models to understand our customers network experience and predict/prevent failures at our broadcast centers to reduce outages.

  • Make business recommendations (e.g., cost-benefit, forecasting, hypothesis testing, optimization) with actionable findings at multiple levels of stakeholders through visual displays of quantitative information.

Key Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or other quantitative field.

  • 1-3 years related experience in advanced analytics, big data, relational database structures, research methods, sampling techniques, and system testing.

  • You have excellent communication skills to present findings to both a technical and non-technical audience, and can manage stakeholder priorities directly.

  • You have a thorough understanding of statistics, customer segmentation, machine learning, and implementing models in a production environment.

  • You have experience in a data-driven environment designing and building metrics-focused deliverables, in a technical, consumer-facing and/or mobile technology business

  • Strong understanding of SQL to manipulate data and/or other big data querying languages

  • You have experience with analytical packages such as R or Python and at least one analytic reporting platform (Tableau, MicroStrategy, etc.) or data visualization libraries (ggplot, Highcharts, D3.js, etc.)

  • You have working knowledge of ETL and data warehousing concepts, or have experience with ETL tools like (Matillion, Alteryx, Knime, etc..)

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience with distributed analytic processing technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Pig, Presto, MapReduce, Kafka, Spark, etc.)
  • Understanding of media domain, content, and/or streaming business model

As the Data Analyst on the Media & Acquisition team, you will be responsible for preparing data and analysis to measure the effectiveness of our advertising to drive new customer acquisition. The ideal candidate will have a strong curiosity to learn the technical and analytical side of advertising. You will become an expert at all our media buying systems including Facebook, Pinterest, Google Ads and the Tradedesk in order to understand the data we need to pull into our internal systems to analyze performance. The data analyst will also be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, implementation and integrity of TechStyle's media attribution model and partner with the campaign managers to ensure we're feeding the model the right inputs. We are looking for someone who is an expert at writing and understanding complex SQL scripts to extract data from a transactional database. This person should also have excellent communication skills to be able to present their findings and analysis back to business stakeholders. The right person is detail-oriented, incredibly curious, and technically capable with a deep desire to become expert in our systems and data structures. This role is critical to keep data flowing seamlessly to fuel our data-driven culture. This position will report to the Director of Media Measurement. Responsibilities: * Become an expert in media attribution and measurement. This involves implementation of new attribution platforms and maintaining and enhancing TechStyle's internal attribution model based in complex sql and python. * Project manage data engineering projects and ground priorities towards key business initiatives. Decide what data we need to pull from 3rd party platforms and how we will use it in analysis'. * Prepare data and analysis on effectiveness of media campaigns and clearly communicate insights to key stakeholders. * Develop naming conventions for each of our marketing channels to effectively optimize our media spend – and partner with multiple teams to oversee their implementation. * Own tag management system (GTM) for all 3rd party tags. * Utilize automation tools such as SSRS, Tableau, and Microstrategy to streamline report generation for cross-functional teams * Partner with Business Intelligence and technical teams to provide feedback for constant improvements to our data accuracy and architecture * Proactively develop site and media performance reports and analysis such as segmentation analysis; highlight observations and business context to deliver actionable recommendations to business leads Required Skills: * B.A./B.S. in mathematics, computer science, engineering or related field preferred * Advanced SQL skills to extract data from relational database system and build reports * Excellent communication skills and ability to present complex information to executives. * Proficient in MS Excel, including pivot tables, formulas and charting * Demonstrated ability to pick up new analytics tools – nice to have direct experience in SSRS, Tableau, or Microstrategy * Project management skills a plus. Interest in project management required. * Familiar with media buying platforms like Facebook and Adwords a plus * Experience with web analytics and tag management tools such as Google Analytics and GTM a plus * Understanding of statistics and experimental design.
