Analytica is seeking a Data Analystwith experience to support long term federal client engagements in financial regulatory or health projects in the DC Metro area. The role involves supporting data analyses tasks for the team including data science and data engineering tasks. The Data Analyst would support the team in data mining, statistical modeling and visualizations to analyze challenging public sector problems.The data analyst will also be working with a senior ETL developer and the Data Science team to understand data requirements, develop SQL queries and stred procedures to extract and cleanse data, load into database format for consumption by data models.Analytica has been recognized byInc.for 3 consecutive years as one of the 250 fastest growing business.   • Be a key member of a highly collaborative, cross-functional team environment to design, develop, and deliver innovative, technical solutions using AI/ML and other data-driven methods.
  • Support senior ETL developer to extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes for SAP/Sybase IQ database and support programs and processes to load update.
  • Create and maintain SQL scripts, stored procedures, and other program logic to create, update, and delete data.
  • Assist with design and implement schema changes, manage indexes, and alter data objects to optimize performance.
  • Create and maintain documentation that includes file specifications, schema, core record layouts, programs, business requirements, test plans, and other artifacts used in the administration, creation, and execution of database operations
  • Assist senior data scientists with data science tasks - identify the key determinants for modeling that exist in the business process and within existing data sets, as well as selecting evaluation protocols (model techniques)
  • Conduct pre-processing of data to collect, clean, and prepare data sets for input into a computational model using technologies in R
  • Support senior data scientists to investigate, test, report, and validate model results with clients and colleagues
  • Present results of modeling activities to clients, depicting the insights realized, and explaining the relevance of their results to the organizations business challenges
  • Participate as part of an agile team in daily stand-ups, release planning, retrospectives, and customer demos
  • Participate on solution design teams forresponding to government requests for white papers, proposals and other content needs
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, Computer Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or another quantitative field; Master's degree a plus
  • 1-3 years in data science, data engineering, using SQL, R and/or Python
  • Strong problem-solving skills, leveraging domain knowledge, information technology, and data science techniques
  • Experience querying data from relational databases using SQL
  • Experience with development of predictive analytics models
  • Experience working in an Agile project management environment
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance
