The Data Analyst combines thorough Middle Office business knowledge with moderate technical expertise to ensure the proper recording of portfolio transactions and calculation of NAVs.
Troubleshoot exceptions in automated security setup and trade capture processes using SS&C PORTIA and proprietary software.
Utilize third-party (investment manager, custodian, broker, vendor) feeds to ensure proper recording of transactions, which include principal, interest, corporate actions, maturities, margin, collateral, subscriptions, and redemptions.
Perform reconciliations of cash and positions against third parties and assist portfolio accountants in resolving reconciliation breaks.
Ensure that portfolio positions are priced daily using third-party feeds.
Perform checks to ensure accurate NAVs are generated and assist the performance team with reopening previously closed periods.
Respond to inquiries from downstream users of shadow accounting data, primarily in the context of performance and client reporting.
Required: Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance or Business Administration.
Preferred: Experience in financial services industry (ideally capital markets, equity and/or fixed income).
General knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL) and Microsoft Office applications.
Strong desire to learn, excellent problem-solving abilities, solid communication skills.
Demonstrated academic achievement in relevant coursework.
