OVERVIEW:
Our client provides products and services to high net worth clients, and is developing a data mart to facilitate client-centric analysis, measurement, and predictive modeling in support of the group*s key strategic objectives. The vision of this project is that it will contain comprehensive information about the clients, including the products each client holds, and such metrics as client balances, client revenues, client behavior (e.g. channels used, transaction activities)
This team manages various analyses and reporting processes and projects in support of business partners throughout the relevant group, including Strategy, Product Management, Marketing, Finance, and Regional Sales Management.
You will be part of a great team developing an enterprise client-centric data warehouse that supports business partners throughout the organization. .
DELIVERABLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Run programs that extract data
  • Define and document business and functional requirements
  • Troubleshoot reporting and data anomolies
  • Engage and direct business partners and subject matter experts to identify priorities, scope, and requirements for complex business problems
  • Manage and perform complex business and systems analysis
  • Engage technical development team members to transition requirements to design, and to determine appropriate design approach
  • Coordinate with project managers on deliverables, risks, and issues
  • Plan and execute system testing and user acceptance testing
  • Create end user documentation, train end users, and assess end user needs
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and visionary for the business community and technical teams
  • Project planning and management of business team deliverables
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • BA BS degree
  • 3-4 years of experience as a Business Analyst (looking for hands-on players)
  • Very strong analytic and creative problem solving skills
  • Proven experience with banking data and finance concepts
  • Strong critical analytic and critical thinking skills (required)
  • Very strong communication and team skills - will be interacting with and leading a variety of business partners and cross-functional team members, and must be able to effectively communicate and discuss business and technical concepts and issues (critical)
  • Detailed and technically oriented, but possess the ability to consider strategic initiatives and drivers (basic)
  • Proficient SQL skills and database knowledge in order to analyze data sources (critical)
  • Proven experience developing business and functional requirements for an enterprise data warehousing project in the financial services industry (nice to have)
  • Proven experience with business process modeling and systems analysis
  • Proven understanding of the full software development lifecycle
  • Proven experience within the financial services industry, including an understanding of financial products, concepts, data, and systems (particularly interested in brokerage products, systems, and data)
PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • Proven experience developing business and functional requirements for complex enterprise data warehousing projects (particularly interested in client-centric projects)
  • Previous experience with data modeling and system design
  • Knowledge of business intelligence

VIEW JOBS 1/23/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-04-23T00:00 <strong>Job Title:</strong>             Data Analyst<br /> <strong>Type/ Location:</strong>  12+ month Contract, San Francisco, CA<br />  <br />  <br /> <strong>Summary:</strong><br />  <br /> The Data Analyst works with subject matter experts from the project team to determine the data requirements for the client’s data warehousing system, develops requirements into functional specifications and detailed data flow design documents, and participates in the full development process life-cycle from concept, through testing, to implementation.<br />  <br /> <strong>Deliverables:</strong><br />  <br /> Collaborate with Project Manager and business and technology/vendor partners to jointly identify data needs required to deliver the next generation of data warehousing solutions.<br />  <br /> Reconcile source data with data at vendor to support transition to client’s data warehouse.<br />  <br /> Identify necessary data, reconciling with new application and legacy data sources and ensure a successful implementation of data warehousing capabilities.<br />  <br /> Establish data quality rules.<br />  <br /> Write and execute data quality checks.<br />  <br /> Research and analyze data in support of business functions.<br />  <br /> Analyze user acceptance testing.<br />  <br /> Develop and verify data mapping as needed to support the client’s project. Provide technical specs to development team such that ETLs can be built to spec.<br />  <br /> Create detailed documentation (design specifications, data mapping, data flows and sequence diagrams) and verify data mapping as needed to client’s warehousing project.<br />  <br /> Design and support data quality checks.<br />  <br />  <br /> <strong>Required Experience & Education:</strong><br />  <br /> BA or BS in Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience<br /> 3+ years of relevant experience in data analysis and/or data management<br /> 3+ years of relevant work experience with background in wealth management and/or client reporting<br /> Extensive knowledge of SQL<br /> Experience debugging code<br /> Experience with canonical data models<br /> Knowledge of Private Wealth Management/Investment Management  with ability to interpret definitions and calculations from business language to developer logic<br /> Clear, high-level understanding of complex data models and software integration/delivery<br /> Understanding of traditional and alternative asset class investment data, including but not limited to equity, fixed income, private equity, real estate, derivatives, mutual funds, ETFs, global assets, foreign exchange, etc.<br />  <br />   Addastaff San Francisco CA
