Compensation
Compensation includes a base salary of $88,300.00 - $147,100.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
Job Description
The sustainability space is rapidly evolving increasing the need of businesses to mature their data and analytics in support of sustainability goals and regulations. As an analytic leader, you will shape the future of data analysis and reporting for Cox Conserves. The role of Data Analysis Manager is to lead the execution of data analysis projects to bring to life the strategic vision developed by the Director, Environmental Sustainability. The Data Analysis Manager will lead meetings with stakeholders/partners, scope projects, define business and technical requirements, delegate work where appropriate to junior team members, and see a project through to solution delivery. Collaboration across the Cox portfolio of businesses and third parties is key to gather necessary inputs and understand business nuance. The Data Analysis Manager must be an expert data wrangler, critical thinker, and creative resolution guru in order to effectively gather and analyze sustainability data from across the entire enterprise.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 6 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 4 years' experience; a Ph.D. and 1 year of experience; or 10 years' experience in a related field
Requires strong knowledge of python and Experience querying databases (e.g., Oracle, Snowflake, Redshift, Azure data storage) with SQL
Excellent attention to detail and high degree of speed and accuracy skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization
Strong analytical, operational and technical competency, with a proven ability to present data and complex analyses
Experience with developing and running custom ETL for data analysis: aggregating, cleaning, and analyzing large data sets, and identifying trends and patterns
Proficient in writing scripts with python/pandas/pyspark for ETL and data analysis
Ability to clearly communicate complex ideas in a simple, yet effective, manner
Experience defining scope of work on personal projects/tasks
Direct experience with analytics, reporting, data mining, advanced analytical modeling, and data visualization
Experience mentoring more junior analysts
Ability to multi-task and re-prioritize work based on required deliverables
Preferred
Degree in related discipline strongly desired (e.g.,Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, or like discipline)
Experience in training and deploying statistical models/machine learning models in a business context
Experience creating dashboards for stakeholders with data visualization tools: Tableau (preferred) or PowerBI
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Lead execution of external reporting process (Cox Impact Report, 3rd party sustainability disclosures) in partnership with the CSR/ESG team
Lead projects to automate the external reporting process; utilizing the latest technologies/tools available
Lead analytic projects from discovery to delivery: translate business needs/requirements to technical requirements, scope project phases, define analytic plan, communicate plan to stakeholders/partners, and delegate tasks as necessary to data analysts
Lead the design and development future state data pipeline to increase data quality and speed to insights utilizing new technology as needed
Serve as liaison between Cox Conserves team and Cox IT/3rd party vendors to best ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of environmental data
Simplifies and standardizes internal reports for use across the organization
Define and document carbon accounting/environmental reporting methodology with input and buy-in from stakeholders and partners
Design robust QA process to reduce time for error identification and fix, leading to increased speed of delivery on insights.
Be proactive in identifying systemic data quality issues and provide timely resolution of those issues which includes presenting root cause analysis to key business owners to ensure positive customer satisfaction
Prioritize, escalate, and deliver on work using a logical and methodical process
Providing coaching and mentorship to data analysts
Day-to-day duties include, but are not limited to:
Lead working sessions with data analysts to ensure technical solution meets business objectives and follows analysis/data pipeline best practices
Develop reports and visuals to support executive presentations
Collaborate with stakeholders to establish metrics and dashboards, and leverage quantitative analysis for operational and strategic decisions
Lead the first line of response to data quality issues; investigate and resolve underlying cause(s), escalate as needed
Work within multiple external and internal data sources to establish, maintain and improve environmental data collection, completeness, and quality
Oversee QA processes to monitor data for gaps and errors
Work with junior analysts to develop analytic methodologies for error detection and imputation of missing values
Ensure data/reporting complies with applicable environmental reporting standards (e.g. GHG, GRI), and Data Governance and Management policies
