JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the principal and or curriculum coordinator, the Dance Teacher provides sequential standards-based dance instruction for pupils in grades TK, K, 1, 2, and 7th
8th or a combination thereof, and assists in other school programs as assigned.
Creates a flexible elementary grade program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth.
Establishes effective rapport with pupils to motivate them to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for further participation in the total school program, in accordance with each pupil's ability and to meet the Visual and Performing Arts (V AP A) Content Standards for California in Dance.
Establishes good relationships with parents and other staff members.
Supervises instructional assistants, student teachers, and parent volunteers when applicable. REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS: 1.
Multiple Subject K-8 Teaching Credential with supplemental authorization in Dance or; 2. Single Subject K-8 Teaching Credential with verified years of experience in dance or; 3. Single Subject Physical Education or Dance Credential AND CLAD or BCLAD Certification or equivalent, or; 4.
Designated Subject Credential in Arts, Media, and Entertainment Required Documents: For Internal Applicants (Transfers) Submit a Narrative, (not to exceed two pages), which provides evidence of meeting posted qualifications and specifications. For External Applicants (Outside, Substitutes, etc.) Resume Letter of Introduction Letter(s) of Recommendation Submit a Narrative, (not to exceed two pages), which provides evidence of meeting posted qualifications and specifications.

JLPAA will ensure that all legal qualification requirements will be met for teachers, staff, paraprofessionals, and other administrative employees of the school. Each certificated employee at JLPAA will meet the state licensing requirements for the position that he/she holds.
