JOB BRIEF
The Dairy Deli Manager will conduct the proper operation for the Dairy Deli Frozen Department. This position coordinates the work of employees to achieve satisfactory operating results, which comply with company procedures, policies, and execute company goals. The Dairy Deli Clerk Manager will act as a role model of professionalism, ethical behavior, and effective decision making at all times.
DESCRIPTION OF TASKS:
The Dairy Deli Clerk Manager begins the shift by assessing the department and checking for product replenishment and expiration dates. He will then properly face and restock the entirety of the department by utilizing various metal carts to obtain product from the refrigerated and dry stock areas. The metal carts are also used to carry product when rotating product within the department. This position will scan items with certain expiration dates and discount the products from the regular inventory. Product which is damaged or expired is removed from the floor, removed from the inventory system, and taken to the dumpster in the back of the store. This position places and reviews orders made with various vendors to ensure proper product inventory and accuracy of product orders. The Manager will also review ads and ensure there is adequate product available for the forthcoming ads. If necessary, orders will be placed for more product to meet the needs of the ads. The Manager will organize the back refrigerated and dry stock areas. Meetings are attended as deemed appropriate by the Store Director.
DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Manages the Dairy Deli Frozen Department personnel, budget, scheduling, payroll, merchandising and appearance.
Provides customer service in a friendly, fast, and efficient manner.
Maintains current merchandising schematics, properly displaying
Merchandise, rotation, and cross-merchandising, and communicates this information to Dairy Deli Frozen Clerks.
Removes discontinued items with new schematic from the Dairy Deli Frozen Buyer.
Works with Scan Coordinator on completing weekly ad checks and regular store price checks to ensure correct prices throughout the department.
Checks for missing items, missing tags, or unauthorized items, and maintains a constant rotation system.
Orders items to ensure a full department maintaining solid inventory levels.
Communicates with vendors, as necessary.
Checks dates on all dairy and frozen items.
Handles all damaged and spoiled products according to company policy and assists in controlling the level of damaged goods.
Follows department sanitary procedures and work methods to extend product life cycles.
Adheres to all company and Dairy Deli Frozen Department operation standards, policies, and procedures.
Manages the development and performance of the department employees.
Maintains a clean and safe environment for customers and employees.
Proactively prevents and resolves customer service situations.
Develops methods that help build customer loyalty and expand customer base.
Builds and maintains a positive working relationship with employees and peers.
Executes and communicates company procedures and policies in a manner consistent with Bodega Latina Corporation's mission.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE/LICENSE REQUIRED:
Experience
2-5 years of Dairy Deli Frozen experience
1-2 years in a supervisory level position.
Preferred Field of Expertise
Knowledge of safety and sanitation standards for large scale Dairy Deli Frozen operation.
Ability to read, write and follow instruction.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with others.
Knowledge of basic math skills, i.e., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division of whole and fractional numbers, count, and decimal systems.
Ability to provide on the job training in to lower level employees.
Must be able to provide a Food Handling card, if needed.
Skills
Communication- written and oral skills (Bilingual English/Spanish a plus)

Items consistent with working within a grocery store.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
100% indoors: inside of the market, refrigerated stock area or dry stock area. Temperatures will range from 30 degrees to 95 degrees, dependent upon the stock area.
