Range includes per diem differential. +$2.50/hr for evening and weekend shifts.# Boulder Community health is seeking a Cytotechnologist that performs microscopic examination in a laboratory and diagnosis of benign conditions and abnormalities in cell samples from various body sites. Benefits: #403(b)Retirement plan# #Education assistance program #Staff Support Initiatives such as Sound Baths, Meditation, Massages, and Reiki #Free one-on-one retirement planning sessions# #Employee Assistance Program offering 8 free, confidential counseling sessions for you and your family QUALIFICATIONS Have graduated from a school of Cytotechnology accredited by the committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation or other organization approved by HHS; or Be certified in Cytotechnology by a certifying agency approved by HHS; or Before September 1, 1992- (C1) Have successfully completed 2 years in an accredited institution with at least 12 semester hours in science, 8 hours of which are in biology and (Ci) have had 12 months of training in a school of Cytotechnology accredited by an accrediting agency approved by HHS; or Have received 6 months of formal training in a school of Cytotechnology accredited by an accrediting agency approved by HHS and 6 months of full-time experience in Cytotechnology in a laboratory acceptable to the pathologist who directed the formal 6 months of training; or Have achieved a satisfactory grade to qualify as a cytotechnologist in a proficiency examination approved by HHS and designed to qualify persons as cytotechnologists#required. Bachelor#s Degree in Cytotechnology, copy of academic degree or transcript required; or certified in Cytotechnology by a certifying agency approved by HHS#required. Liquid-based Pap test certification required. Certificate from Board of Certification (ASCP) as a Cytotechnologist#required. #RESPONSIBILITIES Under the general direction of a pathologist, determines final microscopic diagnosis on gynecologic cell samples which are within normal limits and gives the preliminary


microscopic diagnosis on abnormal gynecologic and all nongynecologic cell samples


. Maintains current reporting terminology for cytologic diagnoses. Documents information on HR and 10%QC rescreen specimens on QC log sheet and submits with the worksheets to senior cytotechnologists. Reviews QC specimens returned by senior cytotechnologist and submits comments within 24 hours. Process specimens using ThinPrep techniques and provide on-site assessment of adequacy for Non-Gyn fine needle aspirations (FNAs) in the Ultrasound, CT, EUS, Interventional Radiology and ICU departments as requested.
