Description:

Under the medical direction of the pathologist and under the administrative direction of the Technical Manager or site Manager, the Cytotechnologist is a clinical laboratory practitioner who, pursuant to established and approved protocols of the NYS Department of Health, performs cytological procedures which require the exercise of independent judgment and responsibility, as determined by the department. May have frequent contact with patients, hospital employees, physicians, pathologists, nursing personnel, visitors, laboratory personnel, vendors, regulatory or accrediting agencies and students. Other duties as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology, or related area and qualify as a Cytotechnologist under NYS Department of Education and NYS Department of Health.

• Registered with the NYSDOH.

• New York State Department of Education license or a limited permit is required.

• 3-5 years of experience preferred but open to any candidates that are NYS licensed to review.

• CoPath experience is also a plus.
