The work schedule is Tuesday - Saturday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Job Description

  • Performs routine cytogenetic tests and molecular cytogenetics tests independently with accuracy and efficiency.

  • Develops new testing procedures.

  • Perform FISH and Chromosomes analysis.

  • Provides technical expertise to technologists.

  • Performs duties and responsibilities assigned for a cytogenetics technologist.

  • Performs all types of cytogenetics tests established in the lab.

  • Monitors the performance of the equipment and provides expertise in technical troubleshooting.

  • Protects patient confidentiality and privacy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in biological, chemical, and/or medical sciences from an accredited college or university or equivalent.

  • Certified by the National Credentialing Agency (NCA) as a Clinical Laboratory Specialist in Cytogenetics (CLSp-CG) is preferred.

  • Minimum of 6 months of relevant work experience as a Technologist in Cytogenetics is required; 2-3 years is preferred
