Responsibilities

  • Interacts with children and youth using approved child guidance and youth development techniques.

  • Models appropriate behaviors and techniques for working with children and youth.

  • Maintains control of and accounts for the whereabouts and safety of children and youth.

  • Monitors Internet use by children and youth to minimize risk of exposure to inappropriate content.

  • Ensures computer, peripherals, and software are maintained in good condition and working order. Troubleshoots CYS hardware, printers, scanners, servers and software.

  • Informs CYS Functional Technology Specialist of any major repairs requiring professional expertise.

  • Secures supplies, equipment, and facilities.

  • Must be able to lift or move objects up to 40 pounds unassisted, and occasionally lift or move objects weighing over 40 pounds with the assistance of other workers or lifting devices.

  • Position requires working with computers, peripherals, software and common hand and electrical tools.

Qualifications
1.Be able to communicate in English (verbal and written).
2.Be 18 years of age at time of employment.
3.Possess and maintain ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, walk, bend, stoop, and stand on a routine basis.
4.Possess and maintain health and freedom from communicable disease.
5.Possess knowledge and demonstrated skill in Microsoft Windows and Applications using the Internet (email, searching, web page design) and network computing and possess a professional certificate or higher related to computer science/information technology, or 24 months of experience working in the related field.

HIGHLY PREFERRED:
1-Possess professional work experience with middle and high school age youth.
2-Possess work experience implementing BGCA and/or 4H activities.
3-Possess knowledge of PC hardware and various types of software, as well as knowledge of Microsoft applications to include MS Word, Power Point, Excel, graphics STEM and gaming.
