Responsible for the operation of the Child and Youth Services (CYS) Technology Lab in accordance with applicable regulations.
Plans, coordinates, and conducts activities for program participants based on observed needs of individual children/youth and in cooperation with other CYS staff
Creates a positive environment in CYS Technology Lab that includes appropriate physical space, furnishings, wall displays, and resource materials and supplies to supplement computer software programs and Internet access
Demonstrates proper work methods and provides work-related guidance to subordinates when required. Ensures computer, peripherals, and software are maintained in good condition and working order
Interacts with children and youth using approved child guidance and youth development techniques. Promotes and role models safety, fitness, health and nutrition practices
Trains children/youth in use of equipment and software programs. Assists in training employees and Family Child Care Providers in Basic Computer Skills as required
Completes designated training requirements and records completed training on own Individual Development Plan (IDP).
Troubleshoots CYS hardware, printers, scanners, servers and software. Informs CYS Functional Technology Specialist of any major repairs requiring professional expertise. Secures supplies, equipment, and facilities
Observes program participants for signs that may indicate illness, abuse or neglect and reports as directed. Notifies supervisor on health, fire, and physical and Internet safety compliance concerns
Incumbent performs duties under the verbal and written direction of the facility director. Assistance and guidance is normally available at all times
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.

Satisfactory performance, successful completion of training requirements (transition and/or annual) and demonstrated on the job competency is required
Failure to achieve desired training with demonstrated competence may result in separation
Position requires working with computers, peripherals, software and common hand and electrical tools
Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, holidays and special events

2.Be 18 years of age at time of employment.
3.Possess and maintain ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, walk, bend, stoop, and stand on a routine basis.
4.Possess and maintain health and freedom from communicable disease.
5.Possess knowledge and demonstrated skill in Microsoft Windows and Applications using the Internet (email, searching, web page design) and network computing.
6.Possess a professional certificate or higher related to computer science/information technology, or 24 months of experience working in the related field.
