Title: Solutions Architect -Cybersecurity

Reports to: Director of Presales Engineering

Location: Multiple Locations

Job Description: The Sterling Cybersecurity Solutions Architect will support and enable Sterling's Cybersecurity sales across all vertical segments. This is a highly visible position at Sterling that will require cross-functional leadership to execute technical sales strategies in networking and security. This engineer will help develop technical sales strategies of deeply complex and large organizations articulate the value of Sterling to customers and industry peers. We are looking for a high caliber technical thought leader in the areas of networking and security that can accelerate our growth by inspiring and enabling individual contributors to perform at high levels.

Job Experience Requirements: The Cybersecurity Solutions Architect should possess a strong aptitude and understanding of a wide breadth of information technology, products, tools, services, and solutions. Additionally, the Network & Security leader will have deep expert level experience with solutions provided by Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Juniper, VMware, Aruba and more. Candidate must have prior technical sales experience as a technical leader across multiple verticals: Federal, State & Local Government, Commercial and Enterprise. This individual must understand the tactical and strategic elements of Solutions Consulting as a technical VAR or vendor.

Core Technical Skillset Requirements

  • Network Architecture: should have a strong understanding of network architecture, including network design, routing protocols, wireless design, and network security from Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, Palo Alto, Arista, Ruckus and more.

  • Security: must have a strong understanding of security principles, including threat modeling, risk management, and security frameworks such as NIST and ISO. Familiarity with products from: Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto, Darktrace, Checkpoint, ZScaler, Nessus, Mimecast, Proofpoint

  • Firewalls: should be familiar with firewall technologies, including traditional firewalls, next-generation firewalls (NGFWs), and virtual firewalls.

  • VPNs: should have experience with virtual private network (VPN) technologies, including site-to-site VPNs and remote access VPNs.

  • Intrusion Detection and Prevention: must have knowledge of intrusion detection and prevention (IDP) technologies, including network-based IDP and host-based IDP.

  • Cloud Security: should have experience with cloud security, including cloud access security brokers (CASBs), cloud security posture management (CSPM), and cloud workload protection platforms (CWPPs).

  • Identity and Access Management: should have knowledge of identity and access management (IAM) technologies, including single sign-on (SSO) and multi-factor authentication (MFA).

  • Network Segmentation: should be familiar with network segmentation techniques, including micro-segmentation and software-defined networking (SDN).

  • Threat Intelligence: should have knowledge of threat intelligence technologies, including threat feeds, threat hunting, and security information and event management (SIEM) systems.

  • Compliance: should have a strong understanding of compliance requirements, including HIPAA, PCI DSS, and GDPR, and be able to recommend solutions to meet these requirements.

  • Application: Familiarity with application load balancers from F5, Nginx, AVI/NSX, Citrix ADC, A10 Networks

  • Certifications: CCNP, CCIE, NSE4-8, VCIX-NV, ACMP, ACSP, JNCIA, CISSP

Additional Technical Fundamentals (high level familiarity with each group)

  • Virtualization: VMware, VxRail, Nutanix, Hyper-V, Tanzu, OpenShift, Citrix

  • DR/Backup: Veeam, Zerto, Dell DPS, Commvault, Rubrik, Cohesity

  • Storage (block): vSAN, Dell (PowerStore, Unity, Compellent, EqualLogic), HPE (Nimble), Pure Storage, NetApp, Software Defined Storage.

  • Storage (file/object): Isilon, ECS, NetApp, Pure Storage, Qumulo, Nasuni

  • Cloud: AWS, Azure, Google, Oracle, Gov Clouds

  • Services: MSP and Deployment experience
