We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Intern to join our team. As a Cybersecurity Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in protecting our organization's digital infrastructure, systems, and sensitive data. You will assist with identifying vulnerabilities, monitoring for potential security threats, and contributing to the implementation of security measures.

What you'll do

• Assist in the monitoring and analysis of network traffic and system logs to identify potential security risks or breaches.
• Support the execution of vulnerability assessments and penetration tests under supervision.
• Help configure and manage security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and anti-malware software.
• Assist in incident response activities and investigation of potential security incidents.
• Perform regular system security audits and assist in developing security policies and procedures.
• Contribute to the implementation of security updates and patches for applications and systems.
• Collaborate with other teams (IT, software development) to identify and address cybersecurity risks.
• Stay updated with the latest security threats, trends, and technologies.
• Document findings and activities for reporting and compliance purposes.

Minimum Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a degree program in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of computer networks, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and security concepts.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity tools and software (e.g., SIEM, firewalls, antivirus tools).
• Strong problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
• Good understanding of cybersecurity risks and best practices.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Eagerness to learn and develop hands-on experience in the cybersecurity field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Familiarity with security frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS).
• Some experience / knowledge with ethical hacking or penetration testing.
• Understanding of encryption, authentication, and network protocols.
