Functional duties consist of:

  • Comprehensive monitoring of cyber tools, reviewing system and application logs, intrusion detection alerts for indication unauthorized activity, insider threat, or criminal behavior punishable by law, code or statue.

  • Discover, identify, mitigate and report intentional or unintentional unauthorized use of customer information and information systems.

  • Monitor for fraud, waste and abuse, including content inappropriate to the workplace, Illegal Activity, Productivity Loss and Non-Compliant Activity and provide support to Threat Mitigation Cell, Law Enforcement, General Counsel, Inspector General, customer privacy Office, and the customer Operations Security (OPSEC) Office through investigative research, forensic examination, internet monitoring and formal reporting.

  • Identity Leakage (PII) Related, DoD Directive 54000.1, Privacy Program, which constitutes detection of SSN#s, Credit card information and other Personally Identifiable information.

  • Determine if information constitutes a violation of Personally Identifiable information especially when the information is sent outside Government network, Information does not belong to person sending it, information is not encrypted or password protected.

  • Produces case evidence and reports.

  • Work on special projects as assigned.

  • Prepares incident reports of analysis methodology and results.

  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training or work experience.


The contract position requires:

  • 8 years of related data security administration experience.

  • A TS/SCI clearance

  • Candidate's willingness to obtain and maintain CI Poly.

  • An approved DoD 8570 IAT II certification prior to employment. Viable certifications that meet this requirement are Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CSA+, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP. Most candidates obtain the Security+ CE certification.

  • The candidate to obtain an 8570 CSSP Auditor certification within six months from the date of hire. Viable certifications that meet this requirement are CEH, CySA+, CISA, or GSNA.

Position may require evening, weekend or shift-work (depending on operational tempo).

Must manage the processes required for the development, implementation, and maintenance of numerous classified computer environments that support multiple program requirements across a large and dynamic organization. Ability to perform Information Assurance certifications for authorized systems with the Defense Security Service and Armed Services customers. Ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers. Final in-scope SECRET clearance (less than six years since the last investigation) with the ability to attain and maintain a final Top Secret clearance as well as SCI and Special Access Program accesses. Experience performing risk analysis and mitigation implementation strategies. Ability to design, develop and integrate classified computer systems and networks in compliance with government regulations. Prior experience managing employees at multiple locations virtually. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively interface with numerous cognizant security agencies, customers and senior management. Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, demanding environment. Knowledge of other security disciplines and how they impact and interact with information system security. CISSP or other DoD 8570/8140 ISSM/IAM Level III certification. Understanding of budgetary requirements and management.
