About the Position

Supports departmental cybersecurity related projects, which may include SEIM, log analytics, scanning and vulnerability management, and asset management. Assists in performing technical security assessments of technical systems and projects airport-wide; assists with cybersecurity incident response duties. This recruitment will establish an Open Competitive and Promotional list to fill current and/or future vacancies which may occur within the next six months.

This position is confidential and is not covered by the collective bargaining agreement.

Requirements

Equivalent to two years of college course work in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, MIS, or a closely related field, and two years of full-time experience in cybersecurity related functions. Equivalency will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, and may include education, experience and/or appropriate certifications.

Your application and resume will be rated; points will be awarded based on expertise in the following areas: security assessments and evaluation software and techniques; proper incident response procedures; types of cybersecurity threats faced by enterprise IT environments; Linux and Windows work environments; basic networking principles and concepts; Linux shell scripting; incident report writing; and use of malware analysis tools.

Licensing and Certification: Specified positions may require a valid Nevada Class C Driver's License at time of hire.

Drug Testing: Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.

Residency Requirement: Permanent employees must maintain a principal place of residency within the boundaries of Clark County and provide proof of compliance with Nevada motor vehicle registration and drivers' license laws within 90 days of employment.

Background Check: Employment with the Department of Aviation is contingent upon completion of an education/experience background investigation, a fingerprint-based criminal history record check processed by the FBI, and upon the ability to be granted a security badge as mandated by the Transportation Security Administration.

Customs and Border Protection Security Seal Program: Employment with the Department of Aviation in this job title is contingent upon a five year employment and residency history record check and the ability to present original identity based documentation in order to meet the requirements for a Security Seal.

Physical Demands

Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment, stamina to remain seated and maintain concentration for an extended period of time, vision to read printed materials and a VDT screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone. Examples of Duties

Performs daily review of event logs for suspicious activities. Performs analysis, verification, and triage on incoming malware and works to institute blocks as appropriate.

Works with other department staff to deploy projects securely. Assists senior staff in performing security assessments and creating reports. Performs cybersecurity incident investigation and response tasks, and writes an incident report.

Performs security reviews of physical infrastructure. Performs miscellaneous cybersecurity related tasks as needed. Assists in creating documentation for cybersecurity group. Coordinates with other teams for log and data retrieval tasks.

Function as departmental liaison between County information technology staff, vendor support personnel and system users providing basic research, routine to complex analysis and assists in business systems design and enhancements. Business Systems Analyst I: $53,976.00 - $83,699.20 Annually Business Systems Analyst II: $58,281.60 - $90,417.60 Annually This examination will establish an Open Competitive and Promotional list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months at either level or may be extended as needed by the Office of Human Resources. The Business Systems Analyst I is a training underfill position, upon successful completion of the probationary period (520 hours worked to 2,080 hours worked) and the training program, which is up to two (2) years, the successful candidate will be non-competitively promoted to Business Systems Analyst II. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education and Experience: Business Systems Analyst I - Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or Public Administration, or a related field. Some business systems analysis experience is desirable. Directly related experience in a field related to the work may be substituted for the education on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of two (2) years.
