Function Overview

As a Cyber Security Operations, Senior Analyst, you will help secure Whirlpool's infrastructure against both insider and outsider threats. You will help manage Whirlpool's state-of-the-art security tools to correlate threats, respond to incidents, and protect our global assets. Additionally, you'll work collaboratively with other members of our Global Security team to investigate incidents, analyze attack methods, research new defense techniques and tools and document procedures for the Global Security Operations Center. Successful candidates will need a strong foundation in Information Security and a strong desire for continuous learning.

Job Responsibilities

  • Own, operate, and drive security operations and protections for the company

  • Respond to threats in real time, through diagnosis, communication, and remediation

  • Prevent successful attacks by hardening Whirlpool's defenses and working to close vulnerabilities

  • Work on significant security related projects

  • Represent the cyber security function in multiple forums

  • Report directly to the Cyber Security Operations, Senior Manager

  • Provide input and recommendations on cyber security policy, risk, and overall security best practices

  • Engage in Proactive Threat hunting

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2+ years' experience in Cyber Security

Preferred Requirements

  • Technical proficiency in SIEM (Security information and event management) tools, such as Splunk.

  • Experience with Antivirus and encryption tools

  • Experience with Vulnerability Management tools and processes

  • Technical proficiency for creating standard operating procedures

  • Servant leader mindset for keeping Whirlpool safe, secure, and reliable

  • Strong Technical proficiency in Endpoint Detection and Response security tools, CASB (cloud access security broker) tools, and DLP (Data Loss Prevention ) solutions

  • Cloud security operations experience and cloud orchestration operations

  • Technical understanding in digital forensics.

  • Ability to work calmly under pressure in the face of adversity and threat activity

  • Possess strong communication skills in oral and written form

  • Ability to establish positive working relationships and garner influence with other functions

  • Project management experience for full security system lifecycle and security tool upgrades, including business case development

  • Self-motivated to own and solve difficult challenges and ability to motivate others to higher levels of performance and engagement

  • Strong technical competence up and down the technology stack - user interface, applications, communications, infrastructure, database, network, storage, etc

  • Strong desire and aptitude for continuous learning and keeping abreast of new and emerging technology.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills especially debugging of complex software systems

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • A passion for applying latest technologies into the development of innovative features and products

  • A collaborative attitude and strong desire to succeed as part of the team

  • Self-motivated and a strong passion for learning

  • Deep understanding of full product development lifecycle

  • Knowledge in C programming

  • Excellent knowledge in HW interface and driver development

  • Excellent knowledge on the AOSP stack

Function Overview Whirlpool Corporation is committed to protecting the personal information entrusted to us by our consumers, employees, and third parties with whom we interact. As a member of Whirlpool Corporation's global privacy team, this individual will work closely with Whirlpool's Internet of Things (IOT) program, driving Whirlpool's Privacy by Design philosophy into the operations of our connected appliance development and launch cycles. Ultimately, this person's role is to reduce risk to our organization by ensuring all IOT employees, staff and contractors know, understand and follow our Privacy by Design requirements for Whirlpool's IOT platform and devices. Responsibilities Today, you may be reviewing privacy by design strategies for Whirlpool's connected appliance initiatives, providing privacy awareness training, or developing privacy job aids for data scientists. Tomorrow, you may be working closely with the digital business team to define our mobile app privacy requirements and provide advice via a California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) privacy impact assessment. At the end of the week, you might be working with the data governance team to map out the roadmap for privacy compliance activities and the governance model for sustainable privacy practices. * Ensure that our IOT/connected appliance program meets all privacy regulations, standards, and compliance requirements. * Own, deliver, and manage our Privacy by Design policies, guidelines, and requirements in our IOT program, ensuring awareness. * Work closely with Global Information Systems (GIS) Global Product Organization (GPO) and Business leadership to plan and secure funding for all tactical and strategic privacy initiatives for IOT. * Be the IOT subject matter expert for the company, staying current with applicable privacy law * Advise on Whirlpool privacy impact assessments and on data protection impact assessments when required under Article 35 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for IOT related processing activities. * Provide GIS GPO/IOT privacy training, education, and awareness. * Monitor, track and ensure adequate processes are in place that provide timely resolution of privacy requests/issues/complaints in the connected appliance space. * Available for inquiries from data subjects/consumers on issues relating to data protection/privacy practices, withdrawal of consent, the right to be forgotten, and related rights. * Monitor, track and periodically audit IOT privacy processes. * Active participant on the global incident response team for potential personal data protection events, investigations, and notifications, including simulations/exercises related to connected appliances. * Structure and maintain this program to be long term, so ultimately we are not changing just behaviors but culture within GIS GPO/IOT. * Report directly to the Chief Privacy Officer. * Ability to travel globally Basic Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree * 2+ years of experience in Information Technology Operations, Privacy, Cyber Security, Engineering, or Compliance Preferred Requirements: * Passion for keeping the global Whirlpool organization safe, secure, and reliable. Passion for data privacy and respect for the individual. * Strong understanding of global privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, PIPEDA, Privacy Shield, LGPD) as they pertain to IOT devices, systems, and our customers.
