Position Overview

The primary responsibility of the Cybersecurity Intern is to assist in project activities of the Corporate Global Cyber Security Department. The Cybersecurity Intern will be introduced to the inner workings of a world-class Cybersecurity Global Operation 24x7x365 using a "round the sun" model. A specific secondary focus will be placed on learning the Cyber Security Analyst I position within the Cybersecurity Operations Center (SOC).

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Las Vegas Sands Corp.'s policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Learn the operational workings of a variety of Global Cybersecurity departments in which you are rotationally assigned over 10 weeks

  • Perform operational, strategic, and tactical functions consistent with supporting the cybersecurity global strategic plan

  • Gain hands on experience, knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) for specific cyber roles in the areas that you are assigned

  • Successfully complete assigned cybersecurity projects as assigned by Department

  • Provide input into the research, development, evaluation and implementation of current and new technologies, products, projects, services and processes

  • Actively train as and perform the role of a Cybersecurity Tier 1 Analyst

  • Performing the role of a Cybersecurity Tier 1 Analyst role with a high level of mental and physical dexterity, advanced technical writing skills, and ability to multi-task using cyber tools while responding to a variety of alerts with a sense of urgency

  • Perform the role of a Cybersecurity Tier 1 Analyst role by evaluating alerts timely, analyze information quickly, and develop context for Management in order to take action and respond to alerts, events, or incidents with the goal of a preventing cyber adversary ingress on the network, stopping lateral movements and preventing data exfiltration

  • Provide and deliver an exemplary level of cybersecurity service or assistance to exceed the needs of internal team members, guests, vendors, and third parties

  • Comply with policies, standards, playbooks, and procedures of the Cybersecurity department

  • Completion of Cybersecurity department tasks or assignments will require the use of highly specialized specific equipment, cyber tools, technical appliances, cyber software programs or systems

  • Safety is an essential function of this job.

  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 21 years of age.

  • Proof of authorization to work in the United States.

  • Be currently enrolled in an accredited College or University

  • Undergraduates must have completed their junior year

  • Graduates must have completed their first year of graduate school

  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.0

  • Be able to obtain and pay for any required licensing

  • Be responsible for their own transportation and housing costs

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain [list required licenses, such as a valid Nevada Driver's License, Alcohol Awareness (TAM) card, etc.] and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.

  • Ability to anticipate and address issues.

  • Advanced analytical skills

  • Proficiency in relevant systems and MS suite are essential.

  • A certification in a related specialty is a definite plus

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.

  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to:

  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.

  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.

  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.

  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.

  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.

Under minimal supervision, this position will focus on supporting the overall Cybersecurity program and engages the Information Technology staff and business partners to implement strategy, deployment and management of the Enterprise Cybersecurity program including infrastructure, network and application security programs Providing leadership expertise to establish and implement security tools, technologies, processes, and procedures appropriate to the detection of threats and attacks against company infrastructure and information. Key Functions Cybersecurity Operations * Manage and oversee the Security Operations Center and managed service provider to perform daily detection and reporting activities * Participate in the Cybersecurity & Privacy Executive Steering Committee as the Governance oversight for all Cybersecurity and Privacy issues * Oversee all processes and projects managed by the Security Operations Center Team * Develop annual Cybersecurity operations strategy to detect and counter threats and attacks Incident Management * Manage the company process for all Cybersecurity incidents impacting the company * Perform responsibilities of the company Incident Response Commander when the CISO is unavailable to ensure appropriate response, containment, and recovery from Cybersecurity incidents. * Ensure appropriate planning, training, and tabletop exercises and in place to respond effectively to threats and incidents Vulnerability Management * Manage the company process for identification and remediation of technical vulnerabilities * Ensure effective tools, technologies and processes are in place to identify and report vulnerabilities for remediation * Coordinate and report on vulnerability remediation Operational Planning & Management * Support all activities performed by the Cybersecurity team associated with the deployment and maintenance of all Cybersecurity detection systems such as the Security Incident Event Management system, threat intelligence system, and other detection and automation tools * Provide annual budget planning and participate in the development of the annual strategy * Develop and implement Cybersecurity training programs for team members according to their role and responsibilities * Manage projects with the IT and property teams and for projects internal to Cybersecurity * Assist with general administrative activities in collaboration with all team members * Manage vendors' activities and relationships as needed including SOWs, maintenance renewals, licensing updates, etc. * Prepare project plans and associated documentation * Prepare status reports and other management metrics as needed Documentation, Reporting & Analytics * Manage the design and implementation of an operational reporting framework that will provide regular metrics and statistics about Cybersecurity operations; analyze trends in security events, activities, etc. to better understand risks, insufficiencies in our solutions, staffing and processes; report security metrics and statistics to the CISO and other key stakeholders such as the Cybersecurity & Privacy Executive Steering Committee * Document and follow-up on security exceptions relating to IT and property activities that could negatively impact security risks and/or not adhere to established policies, standards, or procedures * Manage all SOC requirements with regards to Cybersecurity metrics and ensure that metrics are gathered daily * Manage all Cybersecurity metrics for the CIO dashboard and other reporting requirements * Manage the vulnerability threat assessment report and ensure all stakeholders are effectively informed of the status of system vulnerabilities Performance and Training Management * Mentor Cybersecurity staff on fundamentals of security threats, vulnerabilities, and testing methodologies * Provide training and advice to less experienced Cybersecurity staff and/or other non-security professionals (IT, properties, e.g.) * Manage and coach current direct reports to ensure they perform at the highest level of quality and are able to achieve current goals * Establish and monitor team's goals and ensure they are aligned with the Cybersecurity strategy and direction * Self-manage career in security by leveraging available courses in-house and courses offered externally; prepare a career plan for short-term and longer-term performance management Caesars Director-Level Requirements * Lead an organization with methods and actions that are ethical and in full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Company policies * Identify compliance risks and take actions necessary to eliminate or minimize risks * Champion, within the organization, a commitment to honesty, integrity, and responsible corporate behavior * Create a compliance culture within the organization and foster an environment where employees feel comfortable reporting potential violations or misconduct Required * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Management, MIS, Information Technology, or similar related cyber disciplines; or equivalent work experience * Certified training in Security Management, Risk and Compliance Solutions and Practices.
