Cyber Analyst/DevOps Engineer at NASA Johnson Space Center

The Mission Systems Operations Contract (MSOC) is seeking an entry level Cyber Security Analyst with DevOps experience that is dedicated to increasing their experience and knowledge in Cyber Security to join a close knit developing team of Cyber Security professionals. Our ideal Cyber Security candidate will have a strong drive to apply and continually update his/her skill base . They will also have the skills to manage and aid in the rollout of SIEM and other tools for incident investigation, containment, and remediation efforts.

RESPOSIBILITES MAY INCLUDE:

  • Responding to security events and security alerts

  • Investigating security incidents and aiding in the incident response process

  • Developing detailed reports on security investigations

  • Managing and improving the SIEM and Incident Response platforms

  • Making improvements and suggestions to advance the overall security processes in place

  • Offering remediation and mitigation solutions based on vulnerability discoveries

  • Managing internal policies and procedures

  • Developing internal tool sets

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience analyzing log files and correlating security related events

  • An understanding of common security controls (Firewall, IDS/IPS, Antivirus, etc.)

  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems and the system's command lines

  • A foundational understanding of computer networking fundamentals and the TCP/IP model, along with common ports and protocols.

  • Good problem solving and analytical skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • Strong tool development skills and scripting skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline

  • An understanding of exploits, common vulnerabilities, common network intrusion methods, and various attack patterns and tactics

  • Experience working in an enterprise SIEM and with cyber case management tools

  • Background in managing and using different security controls (Firewalls, IDS/HIDS, Antivirus, etc.)

  • Background in digital forensics for security investigations and data retention

  • Background in data analysis for security incidents

  • Having experience reverse engineering

  • Familiarity tools for security operations is desired (e.g. SEIM, firewall tools, antivirus tools, network packet analysis tools)

VIEW JOBS 9/2/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-12-01T00:00 Title: EVA Hardware Systems Engineer (Supporting NASA at Johnson Space Center) The purpose of this position is to provide critical systems engineering skills as NASA continues to evolve systems for exploration missions including Gateway, lunar surface, Mars transit, and Mars surface missions. This position will support exploration projects as a practicing systems engineer creating development life cycle artifacts and guiding other team members in the creation of systems engineering artifacts. This position will guide and implement systems engineering principles and practices across systems and contribute experience and leadership to the development of an organizational capability for systems engineering, including mentoring, training, and process development. This position will work closely with stakeholders including customers, team leads, and team members, and therefore must possess solid human spaceflight engineering technical knowledge and experience, along with excellent communication skills. This position will participate in, and support leads in guiding, activities throughout the life cycle phases of systems, from early concept development, trade studies, design, integration, testing, verification and validation, operations and through sustainment. This position will support, and lead aspects of guiding, implementing, and managing project team activities including defining system stakeholder needs, decomposing system functions, developing technical requirements, negotiating and capturing system interfaces, performing design analyses, supporting the planning and execution of system verification and validation activities, and supporting system testing and operations. Requires experience with NASA, DoD and/or industry systems engineering and project management processes and practices. Experience in seeking out and successfully obtaining new work is desired. Awareness of spaceflight impacts to human physiology, behavior, and medical state is desired. Other duties will be assigned as required. Required Qualifications: BS degree in engineering Twelve (12) years of applicable professional experience which has led to increasing levels of technical and leadership responsibilities Extensive technical lead experience in systems engineering Project Oversight and Integration EVA systems engineering experience Designing for Sustainment Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Proficient in Cradle or DOORS Ability to translate concepts across multiple disciplines Desired Qualifications: MS Degree in engineering Systems engineering certification and/or formal training Background in human spaceflight mission full life cycle activities Space Suit Design Systems Testing Experience with NASA or DoD Work Instructions and MBSE practices Prior experience with the NASA flight hardware development process Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 KBR is an equal opportunity employer.
